Agatha Christie is amazing. I'm not sure I'd put her in the cozy mystery genre. Rather, many cozy mystery authors try to emulate her (and not always very well). That said, my suggestion for Elyse is is Murder on the Orient Express or Ordeal by Innocence, only because they are among her most well known. But you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. All of her books are excellent.

If you’ve never read The Rosie Project, I highly recommend it for you. It’s about a genetics professor who wants to find the perfect wife. It is not stated that he is on the spectrum, but it definitely comes off as if he is, or maybe he is just socially awkward. It’s a lot cuter than I am making it sound. There are three books in the series, but the first is the best.

I suggest Can't Spell Treason Without Tea. It's a fantasy, drama, comedy. I'm not finished with it yet, but so far, it's a fantastic read. Book description: "All Reyna and Kianthe want is to open a bookshop that serves tea. Worn wooden floors, plants on every table, firelight drifting between the rafters ... all complemented by love and good company. Thing is, Reyna works as one of the Queen's private guards, and Kianthe is the most powerful mage in existence. Leaving their lives isn't so easy. But after an assassin takes Reyna hostage, she decides she's thoroughly done risking her life for a self-centered queen. Meanwhile, Kianthe has been waiting for a chance to flee responsibly -- all the better that her girlfriend is on board. Together, they settle in Tawney, a town nestled in the icy tundra near dragon country, and open the shop of their dreams. What follows is a cozy tale of mishaps, mysteries, and a murderous queen throwing the realm's biggest temper tantrum. In a story brimming with hurt/comfort and quiet fireside conversations, these two women will discover just what they mean to each other ... and the world."

I highly recommend Ali Hazelwood’s second book, Love on the Brain, it’s one of her earlier ones but it’s so much fun and the romance is adorable. Also, if you’re looking for mystery novels in the same vein as Agatha Christie with just a dash of romance, Sherry Thomas’s Lady Sherlock series is so underrated! It’s got great characters, some neurodivergent coding, and is hysterical an amazing genderbent version of Sherlock Holmes.

I have had the same ADHD problem and also consumed pretty much only audiobooks for awhile. I find that reading on a kindle is helpful because the “tap to turn page” action keeps me more engaged. I love listening to you talking about books! ❤️ It gets me excited to keep reading for fun too 🥰 Some book recommendations I think you might like: 1. Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater (some autism rep in the FL, cozy fantasy) 2. Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren (super cozy romance) 3. Piranesi (mystery, magical realism, somewhat eerie) 4. Anxious People by Frederick Backman (mystery, FUNNY, heartfelt, beautiful writing)

Penny Reid’s “Knitting in the City” series has some delightful neurodivergent characters and representation. I know you get a lot of recommendations, but I had to throw it out there.❤ I love your videos, I feel seen and like I’ve been hanging out with a friend without having to drain my social battery. Thanks for all you do. ❤

I just wanted to be weird and say thank you for these amazing reviews. You are so articulate and your descriptions are chefs kiss. A lot of these books I have not read yet but felt like I couldn’t because nobody was chatting about them anymore. Now that you are chatting about them, I feel like I can finally read some books that I’ve wanted to but held back from. You feel like a close bookish friend and since I don’t actually have a bookish friend that means a lot. The Kiss Quotient is such a good book!!

I adore Agatha Christie!! Two of my favorites (and probably 2 of her most popular/considered her best) are The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Murder on the Orient Express. Excited to hear your thoughts as you delve further into the Queen of Crime Fiction 😊 Also love your spice scale- I’m a fan of romance/rom-coms but I hate when it’s largely sex scenes with little to no character development/plot. If I wanted erotica I’d pick up erotica 🤦‍♀️.

Okay, but have you heard of Brando Sando?? If you have an interest in trying out an epic fantasy series, I would highly recommend his Mistborn Trilogy! He created such a unique magic system and he really writes for the masses imo 🙃 He is really good at exploring the mental health of his characters as well. PS. His name is actually Brandon Sanderson, but obviously Brando Sando is a fantastic nickname and I can’t not use it when I talk about him 😅
