I think it's amazing the negativity surrounding FSD and Tesla in general amongst some people. The amount of absolutely horrible drivers I encounter every week, I'd be happy to see more competent drivers/machines on the road.

I took a ride in a newer model 3 while mine was getting the computer upgrade for FSD. It had FSD and I tested it downtown Toronto. It impressed me. I will try the monthly subscription.

My wife and I were visiting a friend in the hospital. When we left, there was an absolute downpour of rain. Everybody was waiting for the rain to let up. We had the 30 days of free FSD and we summoned our Model Y and it came right to the door which was under a canopy. We now have a Model S and for some reason "summon" isn't available. Hmm.

It's not available because all new Teslas are "vision only" (uses only cameras) and no longer have the proximity sensors in the bumpers. Supposedly this is going to be corrected in the future and vision only cars should have the same features.

We just bought our second Tesla and intentionally bought used since FSD is a fraction of the cost when purchased new (it'll go up eventually, imo). Planning isn't perfect (yet) but it's perception is super human already--it sees things in my blindspots and in complex situations, making driving safer. When we disagree navigating in a new area, it is right more often than I am.

Hey, Duf, I'm curious about the full house solar system you installed at your other house several years ago. Since that is all behind you now, what were your thoughts about solar then and solar now? Just something you might talk about in a future video.

My thoughts are if you plan to live at that location for an extended period of time it is worth it but you have to wait a long time until you break even financially.

I can't wait until complete FSD is released and there are people sitting in vehicles with no steering wheel or human inputs at all cruising around... I will treat it like a new sport. I will look for them and drive unpredictably around them and test out the FSD for the occupants... stuff like drive IN my lane but too close to the FSD car...weave in my lane... speed up and slow down abruptly when one behind.... creep up too close when behind one ... I will make sure to never park equally in a park ... all just to see what the car does ... it is going to be so much fun

@@Duf It will be awesome to find out what a full self driving car does if the car in front speeds up to the limit, then slows to half the limit, then when the FSD car goes to pass I speed up again then slow down... put my hazard lights on while in front of it or just weave from one side of my lane to the other constantly, while braking then accelerating? What will an FSD car do if I drive up to within 2" when it is stopped for lights or something? What if I stretch a cut tire tube across my front bumper (with the ends sealed and pumped up) so I can actually softly touch the back of the stopped FSD? What will it make of that? I would also like to see what the FSD car will do if I creep closer in my lane to it? Will it try to speed up? Slow down? Move away from me? The occupants of the FSD car will find out haha I am getting excited just thinking about all of this... I really can't wait for them to come out... it is going to become a new 'sport' for me

Telsa has the same problem as the Google Glass. It isn't a solution for everyone, which is expected. The problem is those that don't view it as a solution for themselves are vocal about how it shouldn't be a solution for anyone else. Luckily we have dodged that on the EUC front, but it is just the unfortunate reality. In my distorted view I would take the ugliest vehicle in the World if it came with a plug and had full self driving. Function over form when it comes to a task (driving) that even our most ill equipped people are successful at doing everyday.

although FSD is still not perfect, if it was as bad as some make it seem, there would be 1000's of examples posted online of collisions and other issues especially after the free 30 day trial provided to everyone in North America. I have noticed nearly 0 examples in the last few months and most of those have an agenda. FSD is still getting better. Wait another year or two and the improvements will be big enough to impress the biggest haters.

Summon hasn't changed in a year or more. I'd wait for "Actually Smart Summon" and Banish to do more testing.

@bk2721 not sure I follow you. You said Tesla crashed into water and the panels came off ? Sounds like good news if the occupants were unharmed. Which vehicle would you recommend that stays intact after a crash? As far as the apocalypse goes. How can you pump or refine gasoline with no power? 🤷‍♂️

Ahh, ignorant Tesla haters born everyday. Surprised you didn’t get any “but teslas catch on fire all the time” or “ if you battery dies you will be stranded in the middle of the highway and could die” 😂 That said FSD has been flawless in NJ and PA commutes in my Model 3. Only grip I have so far is that car super cautious at stop signs.

Yea at stop signs it always stops completely at the white line first.

Yes, the full stops are annoying but you can accelerate through them and make an ordinary "rolling stop". It is too cautious if left alone.
