A year ago last March @seemownay and @lianelikes started the #8penquestions tag. This month (March 2024) is the 1 year anniversary. Today is my turn at bat. Gotta say, this was so much fun to do!
Thank you both for gathering us all together to offer a peek into our journey in fountain pens.

One Year Anni Playlist & Hop - #8penquestions2024
• #8penquestions One-Yea...
The 8 Pen Questions:
1. When and how did your Fountain Pen Journey begin?
2. Favorite inks in the beginning? What are your go-to inks now?
3. How have your ink and pen tastes changed over time?
4. Are there inks & pens that you have yet to try but would like to?
5. What is your Holy Grail Pen?
6. How many pens do you currently own?
7. Do you have a limit on pens (or inks) in your collection? Is it a number? Is it a feeling? When do you know that you have reached your maximum?
8. Consequently, what would you do if another pen/ink came along?

Hey RC! I'm here to give it. I can't help it. I'm truly tickled by all that I can get up to in this strange and wonderful pen hobby. All this joy from simple writing instruments and some colourful inks. I know, I know, it's not THAT simple really but....c'mon. Anyway...know that the shenanigans will continue. 🤣 Thanks for watching!

Grace, you bring such excitement to my obsession -ahem- enjoyment of fountain pens. Benu and Birmingham Pen Inks have my heart. But one person shop, bespoke makers, especially those from women, internationals, and minorities are where I gravitate to. Funny how just last week I was mulling over my hand size and its relation to pen size needs. Thank u so much for these videos. Do you, my sister!

👊🏽 Thank you so much @cesspresso! And yeh, let's call it what it is...enjoyment 🤣 😂 🤣. We'll just bypass that other word, right? Can I just say, I love that you are making conscious choices for you about where to shop for your pens. It makes a difference for and to all those smaller 1-person shops and bespoke makers to have us buy and promote their work. That was me years ago selling my hand crafted items. So I def get it. Well done! 👍🏽

I loved hearing your fountain pen origin story! I was the younger sibling in the scenario who undoubtedly drove my sister crazy. I also had a little diary with a lock. I, too, blame the algorithm for discovering bottled inks. I probably wouldn't have stuck with fountain pens as much as I have if I had been mainly using cartridges. So glad you found your way back to this world and that it led me to discover you. You have such a wonderful and magnetic personality! Love it!

Haha. Thanks Christy! These vids are so much fun to do. I tend to gravitate to things that are different and outside of what is already well known and accepted as a norm. So Vinta inks are right up my alley and, yes, they produce some beautiful inks. Plus I love the stories behind their ink colour names.

Very entertaining. As far as I know the OG shimmer inks are J. Herbin 1670 collection. Violet Imperial is as it say violet with gold shimmer and the absolute OG is Emeraude de Chivor, which is a emerald green, maybe teal with red sheen and gold shimmer. There is also the 1798 Collection (there is a amethyst in that one) and the 350 Anniversary. Plus the bottles are really cool. I am such a fan of glass, oil slick smooth nibs LOL. and not a fan of EF nibs either. No fine lines, let me see the ink.

@@wildlyimaginable I ordered a Lamy Xl about two years ago. But recently as a watercolor artist I wanted to incorporate inks into my process. So I ordered some inks from Birmingham and an inexpensive dip pen. Totally clueless. So I’ve been venturing in the Rabbit tunnels. I did get a Lamy 2000, with Violet blackberry ink! Oh my! Gorgeous! I have a Peter Pen, recommend by my friend Steve Mitchell, artist, and a Twisbi coming with it. Then, yes, you understand…I saw a Lamy studio in rose gold and bought some rose ink from sailor ink. All from Goldspot. I remember using fountain pens as a child. That’s all we used. I’m so old, I remember when Bic pens came out with a ballpoint. It was terrible! 😳. Fortunately I had a fifth grade teacher who taught us cursive and how to hold our pens. I didn’t realize people didn’t know that these days. So, yes I’ve been watching KZfaq videos going “what?” 😂 I loved your video and excitement! Thanks ❤️

@@followyourbrush Your happy/giddiness is a boon to my soul. I love getting excited about all of this. Violet Blackberry sounds a divine colour! I am still very much enamored with TWSBI pens still and am about to pluck down for 4 of them with diff nib grindsfron Pen Realm to test them out. Got this idea from @minminionspensandinks. I didn’t use FPs in school but my hubs remember using them throughout his primary years in the UK. I did, however, learn how to write in cursive. That’s just how we all wrote. Don’t get me started on how ppl hold pens. All of that was a part of elementary (!!!) school learning. Wish it were still being taught but right now, especially with the advent of things called computers, learning handwriting /skills is not a requirement anymore.
