Thank you! I used to use leather but interestingly it didn't hold up. It would dry rot quickly in certain climates. Then I went to heavy compressed cotton which worked much better, but still would wear through with certain pieces in time, Recently I moved to C-Flex, a professional quality, heavy duty wire. I double wire everything and wrap all clasps multiple times. I have yet to see one break.

With the recent serious global increase of wildlife sale restrictions I cannot say what your country's policy is now.

Soak the bone in various teas. Make a strong tea from tea leaves that create the color you wish and then soak the bone in the tea solution until it stains how you want it.
