You can do it! As a child of a parent who struggles, its okay! I struggle myself as a working college student. I know as long as I’m trying, thats the best thing you can do. Honestly, growing up in a messy home taught me how to clean…which is kinda funny. You’re kids are lucky to have a mother that loves them deeply. You are not alone!!

Just a piece of advice that took me a long time to jump on board with but truly does work. Your kids don’t need that many toys and research’s shows they play better and engage longer with toys when they have less decisions to make.

Part of your depression, certainly not all, but part, is that you have so many things (so much inventory) to manage. This is especially hard if you have ADHD because every little thing is distracting. I have ADHD also and the more I move towards minimalism the less depression I have. I lost my mom a few years ago and know how hard it is. It gets better.
@sundrop2415

I have to agree. Donate 90% of those toys… especially due to that is most of the mess. Teach him how to clean up as well instead of watching you clean up. If it’s to much for his room then it’s to much. I would like to thank you for the motivation video I am sure it will help so many struggling…

Goodness yes too many toys! And if the kids would just learn to put their toys away when they’re done with them, that would be a huge weight off her shoulders! I know it’s hard and takes a lot of work to get kids to cooperate with that though and sometimes you get caught in a loop of just chasing the problem rather than addressing the source of it. By the time she’s done cleaning up she’s probably way too exhausted to work with her kids on cleaning up after themselves, and next thing she knows there’s a new mess to clean up.

If you suffer from mental health problems and you have hard time keeping your house clean, my tip is to declutter. When you have less stuff, it is so much easier to organize and everything just finds back to it´s place after using it. I decluttered and became kind of minimalist after I couldn´t keep my house clean and organized due mental illnesses. Getting rid of the stuff I don´t really need or use was the best decision and these days my house is most of the time very clean!☺ Great video🥰👍

Honestly the thing that I'm admiring the most in your video is that you're cleaning in baggy comfy clothes. Sweat pants and a t-shirt. I see so many of these cleaning videos in cute workout clothes or jeans and a cute shirt. Hair done, full face of makeup. No. You are being so so authentic in this and I love it so much. I'm wearing almost exactly the same thing, so I don't feel the need to go "put myself together" before cleaning. This is amazing. This is the sort of video we need. THANK YOU!

I hear you. I can say that if I have the energy - I clean and de clutter a small area and just look at that and feel better. I just take one area at a time. Then I praise myself for at least doing that area. It motivates me to tackle other areas but you are not alone. When they are able try ti make your kids clean up after themselves- a while nother animal - treat yourself to a small thing once you complete a small task. Sometimes it’s hard to even shower myself when I’m so low!!! You are not alone.

Thank God for this video. The words fit me exactly. I used to watch "Hoarders' when I was "normal" My depression turned to a slow burn with my last employer. The backstabbing, the secret monitoring, the gaslighting. About 2 years ago I began neglecting the Amazon boxes. For some reason I COULDNT get them into the recycle bin, then I couldnt even get the boxes into the garage and so on. Then I found online grocery ordering. I worked from home, shopped from home, rarely left my house. Now, I can hardly move without stepping on something. I dont want to keep gabbing. Just love this video

I just want to thank you so much for being raw. I really needed to see the mess, your story & your motivation. Everyone has different things that snap them out of depression, what’s yours (I’ll understand if you don’t want to share). I am always fighting with my depression and anxiety. My way the past year has been watching inspirational videos, oddly satisfying videos and my final videos are the cleaning videos. Most of the time I don’t realize I’m depressed until I’m wanting to sleep all the time or I missed work because I can’t make myself get up. That’s when I call the doc. I just missed a little over a month of work. I am a CNA & I have to be there for the residents heart and body. It’s a very physically & mentally straining job, but I love people & I love taking care of people that can’t do it for their selfs any more. On top of the work being straining, if the company you work for is not their for you & do things to make it harder, it really takes a toll on you. Anyways, thank you for your video, it really hit the spot for me today 🙏❤️!

Oh Christa! My heart aches for you! I will be praying for you by name daily. I pray that you are flooded with relief and comfort and happiness again. But most importantly confidence and courage to live on with your Mom. It is rough I know but you can find a new normal in your life to live happy and at peace even if right now it seems like you will never get there again. Just remember how your Mom lived and how she expects you to live. You live on in this way with all the strength you have and you are honoring her life in the most respectful way. She would be proud to know you are moving on and getting through even without her. She does not want you suffering because of her passing. Can I ask do you have children? If so, I look to my children as that they look to me to live life and would be lost without me. This helps me to go on without a Mom and know that I add value to someone else life and it's important that I am healthy for my children and thriving to show them how to live. I show them that when I die they must go on the same way Mom went on all her life without her own Mom. I hope I am making sense and helping some. I will keep you in my prayers. Please ask God for your healing and strength. He wants to help you. All you have to do is ask. Also, go watch my Natural remedies video for anxiety and depression and see if that will help you. The key things are to stay healthy, thriving and active. The more we remain stagnant the more we are losing the battle with depression and anxiety. I believe in rest when you need it but if your life is falling apart then it's time to get up and get moving! No one is going to come rescue you. Only you can rescue you! Also, when you are very sad and aching from missing her so much just close your eyes and talk to your mom and ask her to comfort you. Sit in the moment for a while and really communicate with her in your mind. She will come! You will feel her and you will suddenly feel comforted, warm and stop crying. It's amazing! The spirit works even after this life! Please take care of yourself! Your Mom would want you to. I am always here if you need to talk or message me on Instagram @mighty.mama. Stay Mighty & God bless! 💪🏻🙏🏻🤎🦋

I’ve spent the last week unpacking, decluttering, organizing, decorating, cleaning, and doing marathon laundry. As someone who struggles with ADD, depression, anxiety, and OCD, many of these tasks (and just staying on track) can seem impossible. I made myself a comprehensive list of everything I wanted and needed to accomplish, and I kept repeating your mantra: “progress, not perfection.” Despite getting sidetracked countless times throughout the process, I’m happy to report that I checked off the last bit of my list today, took a relaxing shower, and enjoyed time with my family. I didn’t complete everything on my long to-do list, but I did do 95% of it, and the other 5% was on my “want to do” list (refinishing furniture, hanging new curtains, cleaning the patio furniture, etc.). Thank you for sharing your life and struggles with us so openly and honestly. I love watching your progress in every video and it always inspires and motivates me. Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas!! 😘🎄✝️

This all caught up with me big time with a deterioration starting in October and have gotten back to anti-depressants, but I must says the rhythm of cleaning has been my coping mechanisms. Nevertheless, I appreciate seeing another mom facing depression and raising a family cos in my space all the mom's seem to be perfectly fine, no depression, just getting on with running a family. Sigh. keep up with the great content. Merry Christmas 🎄 taking it easy, cook just enough food that won't stress you out.

This video helped alot because i see another mom going through depression and not wanting to do all that work until it piles up and it becomes a daunting task, bult seeing you clean and saying that you want to do it for your family and kids, I feel like i have to keep a sweet place for the fam to be comfortable, but I struggle hard with depression and just beeing lethargic and not wanting to get started cleaning.

I’m so grateful I found this video! I have really been wanting to make “cleaning” videos, but real life cleaning videos for people like me who struggle really bad with keeping up on it all! Not the videos of an already perfectly cleaned house 🤦🏼‍♀️ Do I want to get there someday? Definitely! But right now that’s just not my truth, and I want to be authentic ❤️ So thank you again! You have definitely inspired me.

Ugh I’m so glad I’m not alone! We just hosted Christmas at my house and it’s a complete wreck. I’m super overwhelmed with all these gifts (I promise I’m so grateful) and I’m feeling so depressed because I worked so hard and my house was spotless and now it is so bad. My husband doesn’t understand he’s like “why can’t you just clean” it’s such a struggle that he doesn’t understand. It’s hard.

Yes mama YOU DID THAT 👏🏼👏🏼 you kicked anxiety and depression's ass! Thank you so much for sharing I know it's not easy showing your vulnerable side but this was such a realistic house video I can relate so much and I thought I was the only one with a messy house and it would get me so frustrated. I'm currently struggling hard with PMDD, which means depression, anxiety, and mood swings are CRAZZYYY. It's so much harder to cope when the house is a mess 😭 but then the serotonin boost when you get it done is so worth it! We've got this 💗

Thank you I needed this. My depression is so high right now… I’m gonna get of my butt and begin a deep spring cleaning ❤ Only downside is my body needs rest after every 15 minutes to 30 minutes for 5 minutes at minimum. And then getting back up is always my problem. If I don’t rest I can’t do anything for up to 4 days after a full day of cleaning

I love how honest and comforting this video is, kids noises in the background and motivational speak alike. I’m not a mom, but I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression since I was a kid & I’ve found “adulting” in a timely and effective manner while fighting through those feelings is very hard. And it can feel very lonely and be very hard to get started and not give up, for yourself and those you love, this video helped me out a lot & gave me things to think on

I heard the term "seasonal depression" the other day, and I'm like 😲 Is that a thing!? Is that me!? Holidays are so hard, especially this year. Missing my momma always, then last year I lost my grandparents. I've just been so tired, and not wanting to do all the fun things, even though I LOVE Christmas. Just taking it day by day and doing my best, trying to make it fun for the kids. I'm happy... But I'm so exhausted. 😕 Thank you for sharing this. Growing up my mom had a really hard time keeping the house clean due to chronic fatigue and depression. I grew up in a pretty messy and filthy household. I’ve carried on those habits in my own house. I fall into a nasty depression which results in my home getting just as filthy and messy. Right now I’m doing a deep cleaning and I’m going one room at a time. This has helped a lot. I totally agree, gift giving is so dumb. Like adult to adult I dont need a gift from anyone and its just expensive and not necessary. Id rather just have it be about family, and creating memories.Good Food, Good Company and Good Laughs.

I lost my husband of 23 years- we both were pack rats and collectors - Everyone says “oh just sell it!!” But omg the anxiety and cleaning and taking stuff somewhere and still keep things I want and trying to clean .. It’s so overwhelming.. This is 5 years later and I’m moving AGAIN.. I just got engaged and I’m cleaning out my current house .. It’s almost 3200 sqft full of stuff from when I moved 5 years ago.. I kept everything!! So I get so overwhelmed and anxious trying to find where to start.. And find a stopping point so I don’t keep going until 6am the next morning. I go and go and go when I get on a roll then I exhaust myself and stay away fro weeks until I can tackle it again. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!! You don’t know how much it helps to just have your video playing while I declutter and clean. May God Bless you and your family.. Thank you again.

I appreciate you doing this. I wish I would have found this before Christmas. I could have used this motivation. I just want to say one thing to you that might make you feel better and help you with the work load: cut the amount of toys you have in half. They don't need that many and they don't play with all of those. You're making more work for yourself than you need to. My boys are 12 and 16 now so we no longer have toys, but I can tell you that I had day when I snapped about 9 or so years ago. I bought them both a smallish tote and told them they could have whatever fit in the tote. Surprisingly, they were fine with it. They picked what they wanted and they helped me donate the rest and that was it. It was life changing.

We raised our children giving them a few gifts 2 or 3. That’s the way we do it down here. Nothing like going crazy. What matters is the memories. My mom also passed away and it’s hard,. It’s ok to feel depressed at some point, but I also enjoy the season.

You are amazing. I had 4 kids and I know how fast it all gets out of hand. But if I left all the cleanup and food shopping until 2 days before Xmas, I would not be able to cope. My sister can do that, but I start preparing weeks ahead of time. Right now I am doing some crazy minimizing, and it is so great to be free of so much stuff that I cherished in the past, but am no longer interested in it. PS. I have depression, too. It is genetic, and I had a really bad childhood. But I see a doctor for it and take meds, so it is under control. I feel so much better now that I am able to keep things tidy on a daily basis, and don't let it all get trashed. I was surprised how much some of these little things bothered me. For example, my husband has a basket on our dresser that he throws EVERYTHING into. He considers that "put away." I hate that mess. So I gave him a cute box with a flip lid. Now I cannot see his junk and it does not make me feel like my bedroom is a mess. It was a nice compromise.

The young parents in my family made things very clear to our families about giving gifts. It’s not right to push unneeded and unwanted stuff on someone else, especially expensive stuff. I have no issues returning items, or just putting them right to Goodwill on the trash. This has trained everyone to ask for what’s really needed and stick with that.
