Most people recommend veggies on the bottom of the crock pot, roast on top and fill liquid to halfway up the meat. Makes it even more tender

Thats a massive roast. Wish I was family or friends with a farmer. Free food certainly helps feed a family of 6 on such a little budget.

I made a crockpot roast just last week with onions, garlic and "better than bullion" broth. Ate it twice and froze the rest (2 more dinners) to go over mashed potatoes (Sunday easy dinner). We call the leftovers beef goo LOL. Can't resist the beef roasts when on "woohoo" clearance (half price) 😀
