Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy take on the Hot Wheels Double Dare Loop at X Games Los Angeles 2012: The Hot Wheels Double Dare Loop was six stories tall (the length of two football fields) and required 125 tons of plywood and steel. 🤙🏼Golden years of the X games when everyone was going so big in trying new things and tricks to see what would work and what wouldn't work but it's X games there's going to be a miracle to happen every year. Something big and new happens every year and I think that's what makes X games so special because it pushes the athletes to their limit

I don't think you understand how many big tricks were being hucked just to see if they were even possible. I agree 👍 💯 late 90s earley 2000 but they aren't as big of tricks we are throwing down now in the xgsmes nothing is compared to what there doing now 😉

@@shaodynasty1017 it’s just insane when you think that nowadays amateur kids are doing double flips on their selfmade ramps at their local track. Two wheel stunting evolved like crazy! Be it motocross, mountainbiking or BMX, it’s insane!

awe man i miss the team hot wheels campaign so much. Hot wheels really pushed the limits with all of the crazy stuff they did it was awesome! they should bring it back imo

I love how Greg got his car off to the right so Tanner landing behind has room. Excellent drivers, WOW! They were both on the loop at the same time oh my gooooodness~ When he says it was like being inside a toy car :)

If a live action Hot Wheels movie gets made, they've got to include cars that look exactly like the classic models from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s as well as tracks that look like the toy tracks we played with as kids.

just...perspective, when the Space Shuttle would re-enter the atmosphere, they would be at about 1.4Gs. On liftoff, astronauts on the Shuttle would feel about 3.4Gs. If you go to the fair or an amusement park and they have the Gravitron ride, you can experience 3Gs yourself. Aerobatic stunt pilots and fighter pilots can experice up 9-10Gs. Some, like the Red Bull air race pilots, have done more. 10 Gs is usually enough for a person to blackout. That's about the amount of Gs the pilot of the Galloping Ghost would have been incapacitated by during his horrifically tragic crash. The real odd feeling would be increasing up to 8Gs, then unloading all those Gs and being nearly 0Gs, then back to positive Gs again. Just, Wow! Great work to all involved!

The run looked like they were going to pull up at the ramp, like Evil used to do. Surprised me they made it, didn’t look fast enough. I was hoping the reporter would ask them,”do you want to do it again”? Wonder where this loop is now? Most have cost hundreds of thousand to construct, all for 10 seconds of action?

A few observations, one, they could have made the loop less circular (how rollercoaster loops are built) with a tighter radius at the top than the entrance and exit to the loop. This would have drastically lowered the g's necessary to get around the loop, lowered the entry speed needed, and allowed for a softer suspension that would have handled the jumps better. Perhaps they kept the circular shape to have more similarity to the toy set. Two, they never defied gravity (no such thing) and they were never at zero g's at any point or they would have lost traction and fell. Nonetheless, a cool stunt very well executed!

ANYBODY NOTICE!!! that Tracy's left rear shock broke when he hit the loop, his rim is tucking in the fender well and you can definitely tell when he exits for the jump. 🧐😳

@@svenv4680 they'd have all the grip the needed by the car being pushed into the wall the torque of the engine is probably the most important thing but all rally cars have turbos for that
