Mel, I melt dipping chocolate, put a few drops of mint extract and dip ritz crackers. I’ve been making these at Christmas for years! You can also chop up the mints and sprinkle them over a pan of brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven. When they melt use a knife to spread, really good and really pretty!

Mel I needed a pantry clean out video because I need to do one myself. I’ve got both freezers slam full and with the holidays coming up I need to make room for a turkey and a ham. I feel so blessed we have such abundance so I think the money we will save by doing a no spend week will go to support another church’s food pantry ministry. I know they are struggling right now between low attendance for services, tithing drying up and an overwhelming need in the community. If you could lift their congregation in prayer I would appreciate it. They are a small church of about 25-30 members serving over 1,000 people a week with food. It’s incredible to see them make it work. It truly shows the story of Jesus with his 5 fish and loaves of bread feeding 5,000. It’s a living example of God at work and how He never fails us even in our darkest times. This ministry is so important to the community, the neighborhood they serve is underserved, many are elderly and most do not have transportation to any other pantries to get help. As far as Girl Scouts they are cheaper than the Boy Scouts. I bought a bag of popcorn from one scout the other day. They told me it was $26!!!! For one bag of white cheddar popcorn!!!! I said umm are you sure that’s my total? If so I’m going to take a pass on that because yikes! I get inflation but this is ridiculous. Then I saw the poor little boy’s face go crestfallen and I couldn’t do it so my $26 bag of popcorn is now sitting on my kitchen counter, unopened, as a reminder I am a sucker for little kids selling stuff and they realize it 😂

Prayers for the church. We have a food pantry as well. But we don't have nearly that many come through. We had 35 this past Saturday. Mostly elderly as well, the same ones month after month. Our congregation brings in food every week for the pantry. They are mostly elderly as well. But we get help from a food bank. Has the church tried to find someone like Second Harvest who will help them?

@@donnastratton8397 thank you! I’m not sure as I don’t attend that particular church however I do try to support their ministry as much as possible because I believe nobody should ever go hungry. I will have to ask them about it the next time I see them.

I get it, I try to avoid making eye contact with those little kids selling 🤣 and I think that is wonderful how you support local churches in their food pantries. We are getting ready to have a bean supper to put some extra funds into our food ministry at church, too. The needs right now are just overwhelming.

Girl, you have enough food in those glorious pantry and freezer shelves to eat for a quite a bit without spending anything but for produce! I've been stockpiling for a bit myself with these food shortages and prices. I'm now working on using what I have.

Mama Mel, you can try using oreo cookies for the thin mints. You can dip them whole, or break them into 2 and scrape out the cream filling. Highly recommend. 💞

Mel, I’m sure by now someone has told ya, but if u take one of ur tortilla wraps and warm it just a few seconds, I usually pop a few in microwave for 10 seconds or even run them across the top of my glass top stove, and just that little bit of heat makes them more pliable and makes ur wrapping problem a thing of the past. That used to be me. I hated wrapping them because I always broke them. Lol. Thanks for that recipe. I’m throwing chicken in crockpot now. Have a god bless weekend.

I used those ingredients plus 1/2 c of enchilada sauce and a little more cheese. Then made enchiladas and put in baking dish with 1/2 c of sauce on bottom of dish. Laid enchiladas on top seam side down and poured the rest of the sauce over the top with shredded cheese over the top.. So yummy.Bake covered for 35 minutes at 350. I removed the foil and finished baking for another 15ish minutes.Yummy! God's blessings.

I like to make these at Christmas time and I like to put the sprinkles or the little decorations on the Ritz crackers and if I've got a little of the chocolate left over I do the ends of pretzels and put the peppermint candy on those

On your wrap you should toast them in a pan to toast the tortilla which brings out the flavor. Or use smaller flour tortillas and make flautas . Great recipes as always!!

You know, that is a great idea! I always use the leftovers as quesadilla filling and always end up loving it more toasted up like that. I also toss some corn chips or strips in them too. I love a little crunch!

Where I live there's a BBQ place that does the same thing with baked potatoes 🥔 and they call them, "stuffies." You can choose between pork, beef, & Hickenlooper for the BBQ meat you would like. They are HUGE and delicious too.

I’ve been trying to work my way through my pantry and freezer as well (although the pantry part was finished rather abruptly when I ended up with pantry moths and had to throw a lot away 😭), everything you made looks so tasty! Especially those cookies, I always have extra Andes around the holidays so I’ll have to try those!
