Like this is practically shooting at their feet. 2) Act like nothing happened: Only delays the inevitable of the other options, but long enough could cause a snowball effect to slowly kill the game itself. 3) Add Unranked 6v6 but using the custom code: Best case scenario, but we know that ain't happening. 4) Continue digging deeper into the 5v5 rabbit hole: Most likely option. Expect a LOT of yapping when they argue on why they don't do 6v6 yet. 5) Accept 6v6 data, but still do nothing: While another lackluster option that is likely to happen. At least it means the company/dev team is improving.

I think part of it is the ffa customs that have 12 people. If it wasn’t for ffa being a thing I think 6v6 would be completely removed

fr cause in 6v6 if you lost it was typically because you were the less coordinated team which felt not nearly as bad as 5v5, losing to counterswapping bs that rewards zero skill required and insanely overbuffed heros meta that are MANDATORY to play (i.e. the most recent pharah meta which would get mitigated heavily by an off tank).

It wasnt fun but alot more tolerable. Back then when you lost you felt like the other team just outplayed you. Now it's just if they kill your tank they win

Literally exact same experience. I was Zarya main duo queueing with a Rein main and it was the most fun gaming I had. If we wanted to have some variety we would change comps and play other tanks. But now I am forced to pick the most braindead champions or counter pick to win. All of the games I lose on other roles as well are just due to the tank diff or DPS not being able to kill the tank.

Same here. Zarya main and my irl friend played rein we'd swap when needed but morale of the story we'd always duo que tank and it was so fun. Now it's impossible to get him to even touch the game and I can't blame him at all

The biggest problem with nerfing heroes is that most of the beloved heroes with some of the highest playrates would have to be nerfed. I know that some ppl like burst dmg but the casual audience that makes up around 50% of the games population hates hanzo junkrat and genjis burst dmg.

@@dNLq It's absolutely fine to have pockets/sniper threats - having two tanks - means 1 tank should be denying or pressuring the pocket. It wasn't just diving to kill, but was normally to create pressure...or just shielding them off or using matrix for your team when crossing sightlines. some noteable things about the gameplay against pockets when you have 2 tanks, is that you can deny the pocket value, which creates a frontline 4v5 weakness and has a win condition by out tempo'in. While the enemy team still had lots of healthy counterplay --supports can displace divers pretty effectively.... you also had counterdiving from 1 or both your tank(s) as an option. Compared to: OW2 were you shouldn't counterdive -as it allows their diving tank to receive followup & support. You have to give your team the best chances by denying followup & hope your support duo to hold the backline & if possible attacking their disengage. OW2 its risky to dive the pocket as your frontline can get run over....its worse to have no tank presence than 1 dps.

I remember being so excited about OW2 but then finding out they were going to turn of OW1 servers. I was excited for new content, but simultaneously sad I could never play 6v6 agains.

The community balance arcade mode made me pretty upset. "Unbalancable" heroes like Rien and Mercy were super fun and engaging to play. Were there issues? Yes. But the community arcade was the most fun I had since Season 3 of OW2, or March in OW1. That is until I played OW1 simulator which was trying to make things like OW1, and then the 'modern 6v6' patch. Which was the first 3 hours straight of OW I have played in years.

I did the same thing I uninstalled I reinstalled only after finding out about this discord community for 6v6 and finding out about the custom gamemode

I think that the lower the sr, the more chaotic it gets. I played in a bunch of 6 v 6 lobbies with people of a variety of sr's. Being able to follow what's going on is easy when people have an organized sense of what they should do, usually. It gets a little crazy though if they don't (pure chaos). A good dive team on the enemy can make it seem messy sometimes too. Even though it's just one more person, there is much more of a feeling of having different parts of your team (front line, back line, and maybe even subdivided more). I tried playing Zarya in a brawl comp on Shimbali and the enemy team ended up running some sort of dive comp where they kinda just ignored the front line with half of their team. That game felt chaotic as the enemy was playing well, and I wasn't sure where my attention should be invested. Like, probably it should go to the back line in that instance but I was worried that my Rein would also just get rolled somehow if he didn't have my support. I should probably swap DVa in that instance but that doesn't solve the issue of not having pressure on the front line to help the Rein out. I don't main tank though. Granted, I like having dilemmas to solve for, that's something I miss about 6 v 6 (having moments where the solution to a problem isn't obvious).

I find myself going back to Sam's jay3 doom saga. The gameplay was so much more enjoyable to watch back then.

The devs just want to pretend like they know what they're doing when it's obvious to everyone they don't. They won't go back to 6v6 because it would surely spark up a bunch of articles saying stuff like "looks like OW2 was just one big misstep and they're reverting all of it". But if marvel rivals is good, these devs very well may be pushed into a corner where they have to go back to 6v6. If 60% or their already tiny tank community moves to MR, OW2 breaks.

Hinder, Hack, Sleep and the combination of whatever the enemy Tank's CC ability really makes Overwatch 2 feel the exact same CC heavy experience as Overwatch 1 since the cooldowns all get dumped on the single Tank player. CC was reduced, but not enough and such a way that it gave a meaningful separate experience than before.

Thing is, that isn't intrinsic to 6 v 6. That was just the state the game was in because the devs left the game in purgatory for 2 years
