Thank you for linking the resources you mentioned! I'm really interested in a few of the things you mentioned and the executive function workbook you used sounds promising! You described my 14 year old daughter perfectly (even though you were talking about your daughter - they have a lot of similarities). I'm sure I'd benefit as well. My husband and I are aren't sure of the best way to help her with her room. It's been too crazy lately!

Never feel bad about sharing your heart on homeschooling. I've found the same to be true for us, as well. You're a good mama, and are doing a great job meeting your kids where they are at and giving them an amazing education! ❤

I think I have ADHD. You totally described me. I have had 6 children in the last 13 years so I have always blamed it on pregnancy/mom brain, but I’ve been a scattered mess my whole life. Anyway, thank you for the video. I have subscribed. My oldest is starting 8th gr this fall

Also, the best thing i did for grammar for my 9th grader (for whom grammar concepts didn't stick) was start Fix-it Grammar level 1 this year. It started out easy, but I'm telling you, you knows things now at the end of the year - really KNOWS them. She actually liked doing it, and it made sense to her. As for why? I explain to my daughter that we need to understand the vocabulary of writing. Without understanding that, we can't easily talk about what makes a sentence correct or not. It's hard to explain comma placement and sentence structure if you don't have the language to talk about it. This makes sense her her and now the 10 min a day we spend on Fix-it feels totally worth it.

I totally understand your grammar struggle.. this is the area my dyslexic son struggled with most once he had gotten over the reading hurdles. We tried several curriculums and none were working until we tried Easy Grammar. He is in 5th grade but I started him at level 3. It is working so well for him and I’m so thankful. My neurotypical daughter did their Easy Grammar Plus program for 8th grade and said she understands grammar better now than she ever has before. Just wanted to share in case you hadn’t tried it yet and find yourself needing something else. Thanks for sharing!! My oldest is entering high school next year and I just can’t believe it! Also, I used to follow your previous channel, so when I saw this video in my feed I was excited to subscribe!

My dyslexic girl loves Fix it Grammer and Easy Grammer Plus. I'm also going to try Editor in Chief. I feel like she just needs the basics regarding Grammer in order to write correctly and spot errors.

Thanks for sharing! MCT worked so well for my child who used Abeka for two years. It solidified what she had learned. Now we are using Fix it Grammar and it is working well for her.

Mr Dennison is a miracle worker! We just did pre-algebra in 9th grade due to a very difficult math journey with adhd as well. It was such a tremendous success and my daughter feels great about her math abilities now. Also, we are the exact same with first semester being full of rich learning and second semester being "what can we cut? How can we just do the most important stuff?" Because honestly, we are just burnt out and sick of school at that point. We got a good second wind in mid-march this year, which was nice. I too, have to plan for this, but it's hard to accept!

I’m so glad she had a great experience and got her confidence back! And it’s nice to know we aren’t the only ones who struggle second semester 😆

I totally didn’t even think I could possibly homeschool my kids. I don’t know if I “fought” God on it, but I do wish I had considered it earlier. That being said, I still struggle sometimes with wanting to homeschool some of my kids 😢 But I have to just put that in Gods hands.

Our "out of the box" kids can certainly be challenging, but I KNOW the Lord will honor our efforts and dedication in educating and discipling them!

I really enjoyed your video and your honesty about how it’s going. We have a rising 8th grader and I totally understand your feelings. Your video resonated with me in so many areas. We resorted up till now to not do anything more with literature because it killed the fun and joy out of reading. Just subscribed. I also have a channel and would love to be friends and connect. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Hearing and feeling all those momma emotions. Graduating two so far and only having E left is an amazing feeling but I know how fast the "last" 3 years are going to go. Till I graduate E it will have been a 20+year long journey
