I like how you are skipping the reading comprehension section of worldly wise. I think the more “questionable” content starts at 10th grade, so I might do that one we hit the 10th book.

So excited to see your update on your first week! You're off to a great start! 🎉 I really LOVED all you shared about SL Am Lit, as we'll be doing that soon (starting in a few weeks, actually). Great advice to read those notes in the guide. So fun that you're doing this WITH your son. We plan to do this together, too. I think it'll help in being able to discuss the concepts and gain a deeper understanding...for BOTH of us! 😂 Also, that's great you found a good way to get around possible content issues with the Wordly Wise book. Good thinking! 😉 Praying you have a great finish to your week...blessings, friend!

Hi! Great video! I would love to watch a video of your bookshelves. I have two 13 year olds and we read Vanderbeekers during Christmas time last year. My son enjoyed it a little more than my daughter, but they didn't want to continue the series. I think they gave it 3 stars 😌 Monthly reading recaps sound great or even just quarterly.

Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox counterfeit Christianity? Wow! As an Eastern Orthodox that is offensive, but also I never teach my children that Protestantism is counterfeit. Sad The problem with this book is you are assuming they are teaching accurately what Eastern Orhodox is. I doubt they are. I converted to Eastern Orthodox 14 years ago and have loved Christ my whole life and have only sought after Him. Even when I was a Protestant I stayed clear of curriculum like this.

Hi, are they QR codes in the parent guide for videos to watch? I understood from BFB that all new guides coming out they’d update them with them, for eg the updated Early American history primary now has QR codes, whereas the previous one, an address was given which you’d have to type in to your computer/phone.
@homeschoolteenswithjenny
@homeschoolteenswithjenny 19 күн бұрын
I wasn't ignoring your question.. I just had to get upstairs to review the teacher guide before I could answer :) There is only 1 QR code in the teacher manual (in the front), and it takes you to the Resource Packet for the course. The Resource Packet is downloadable, and it includes graphs, charts and website links to each lesson.

@@homeschoolteenswithjenny hi, thanks so much. Someone at BFB has said to me they had updated all the video links which updates the 2020 edition. They said the content was the same, but all the rabbit trail video suggestions were now linked. Odd they said that to me. But thank you for letting me know, since I’ll just buy the 2020 guide and books second hand.
