I agree high agency is largely the responsibility of the individual. High agency has been my MO through school, grad school and in the first 7 years of work. However, when you're up against senior mgmt who are known to be sexist - high agency will cost your sanity and wellness. Let's not excuse discrimination. Let's hold everyone to the same standard for decency and respect.

I just literally studied mechanical engineering and wished later that I had studied computer science instead. So, I learned Python in 2019 beside the job and CS (HarvardX) and Angular in 2022 because I believe it makes me a better product manager. 😊
