The most amazing endo ever witnessed: squirrel ran in between the spokes ... yup, as messy as you would think and screwed the rim. Fortunately, this was my riding buddy, not me.

I was road riding (yeah I know we all make mistakes) and as I was hauling ass down this road a squirrel comes bolting out of a bush on a full mission to attack my spokes. He made contact, I went over and as I laid there thinking about the road rash I look over and realize I was in better shape than that squirrel.

A buddy of mine was like "I almost ran over that chipmunk!" I guess he didn't realize he ran it over with his rear tire because we saw a dead one when we back and looped the same trail. He felt like crap the rest of the day....funny and sad at the same time.

On a positive note you now get to put a squirrel sticker on your bike like fighter pilots do. Four more and you're an ace. (It's even more overwhelming on a road bike).

I ended a fish once.....riding next to a river that had broke its banks, fish went for a wanda over the 1ft deep flooded path, also got a bat stuck in my riding jacket on a night ride....never heard anything since make that noise

Here in Phoenix it's jackrabbits, exactly the same story but about 10x bigger. Fortunately I haven't squished any yet but my buddy did a few years ago, it left a claw imbedded in a tire knobby and gave him a slow leak.

Had myself a weird encounter with a squirrel who was running for his life. It was chased by dogs and crossed the fence and got on the road so fast just went between the wheels of my bike. 100% the rear wheel catch his tail for a moment but got away safe. Superb video 🤣

Hmmm 🤔. I know its not a competition but.... I was 40+ miles in on a 100 mile charity ride and in the middle of nowhere. A dog came out from a farm house and like a kamikaze ran face first into my rear spokes. It got ugly. Dog bleeding on the side of the road, owner called the cops, the kids are crying, mom is calling me an animal!!! The cop saved my ass, told me to go. Still don't know if it lived. 😮

Deers, skunks, opossums, squirrels, turtles, raccoons... have close encounters with them all the time but haven't hit or been hit. Rode up on a woodchuck once. It just sat there in the trail and looked at me for 10 seconds. Then my buddy caught up and the 'chuck ran off. Rode on for another hundred yards and stopped. Found fresh woodchuck poop on my front tire. Little bugger got me!

At the bike park last summer a woodchuck darted out and i ran over him w my back wheel. He tanked it and waddled off. Tough bugger.

I had one bounce off my front wheel, hit my foot and hang on for 3 or 4 strokes while I was freaking out with a squirrel on my foot, and then it bailed (or flew off) into the woods totally fine.

There was this guy at work who really didnt clicked with me. One day he arrived (roadie) and said he saw a squirrel get into his path but he was doing his best time in strava… so yeah never had beers with him.
