@Proverbs3- Жыл бұрын
In 1980, she felt a great need to go back to her Christian roots and didn't let hollywood tell her what to do or sing and didn't care to know what she won for awards, the competition, etc. ...which hollywood likes to shun when that is in a person they think is in the palm of their hands. She also had told them that she was there to sing. She began singing in church when she was eight-years-old... "I opened my mouth and this voice just shot out of me. It shocked me and it shocked everyone in the room. I started crying and everyone in the room started crying. There is no doubt in my mind that God gave me this voice." -LaDonna Gaines (Donna Summer)

She was one very talented lady who certainly left her mark in the music industry. I was very saddened by her death seven years ago. She was one of the most talented women singers of her era, better known as the Disco Queen. I remember hearing this song just about every day in 1978 when I was getting ready for school. This song shows her vocal range so well that one would never know that she was covering a song originally sung by a man.

Donna Summer is the most versatile female that ever recorded. I have been a fan of hers since 1976. When she sings live she sounds like the original recording or better. No one can sing her songs. Her vocals have always been outstanding. Donna Summer ranks #6 in worldwide record sales selling an estimated 180 million records. I am saddened that it will be 10 years this year 2022 that she passed away on May 17th 2012.

She is the greatest example of not needing to wear skimpy outfits to sell records. Pure talent.

lol she was the original female sex symbol in music. Let's not gloss over her beginnings. But yes, her voice is flawless and surprisingly got only better with age.

I love the Beatles,stones,Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath,Yes,Steely Dan among hundreds more but there’s something about Donna! She was one of those enormously talented women who was spectacular. “On the radio” was probably my favorite by her. It is just one of those two fold songs that makes you almost cry then dance around the living room.
