When going from “dumb” seat angles to “race” seat angles in the head do the angles on the valves themselves change too? Always or depends or are they unchanged? General question of course and nothing specific.

You should do a sequel to the epic sax on Dark Side of the Moon. Instead of "The Great gig in the Sky-I'm thinking run it through some turd polishing compound and you got a Psychedelic adaptation to be called "The Great Pig in its Sty."

Just awesomely useful content. Been watching for a while and wondered who on his crew was in the kickass band cranking out the clever and supremely subject targeted tunes, and damned if it's not Pete doing ALL of it himself! Way cool! I'm older than Pete, but if and when I ever grow up, I wanna be just like him.

Really cool to see you go into depth about valve angles and comparing a stock/mild valve angle to a high performance cut.

Cleetus has also brought a lot of people here too though. Pete is the guy making stuff work behind the scenes though and it's appreciated. KZfaq is also about audience retention and for most people, watching a race is more exciting than polishing turds lol
@KimiWallrus9 ай бұрын
@@Shiftheads Which is why people who watch Cleetus vids need to evaluate their heros. First off, what racing? It's all fake or barely relevant, which is fine but let's keep apples to apples but never forget less fruit is more.
@Shiftheads9 ай бұрын
@@KimiWallrus not sure where the hate comes from. Cleetus is a pretty good example of follow your dreams and work hard and the money comes. They go to big drag racing events and compete and win. Not to mention jet boat races and airplane races that he has also won at. So your what racing comment doesn't make any sense. Sad people can't give credit when credit is due. Sounds to me like you're just envious man.

Well, after working on engines for 50yrs or so, I finally asked the question, if clearing the cylinder of gas is relatively harder to do than filling the cylinder because of forced induction, then why is the exhaust valve the smaller of the two valves in the head? Seems to me in forced induction engines that the exhaust valve should be the larger of the two. Should bring down exhaust temperature due to better flow.

Pete, would you mind touching on how you set the depth of the cutter on those? In order to keep them consistent on depth. I realize, there's adjustable rockers, but couldn't that affect pushrod length?
@joshwynn18369 ай бұрын
Pete, do you do all your own background music? The guitar riffs that were in the background sounded amazing, similar to Pink Floyd. I love to learn! My dream is to acquire the machinery, and have my own little shop to do my own stuff. Not that I know anywhere near what I need to, but I worked for Daryl Hameetman, HRE down here in FL for a little bit. He definitely knows his big blocks well, and did pretty well with Brian Keeps Procharged SBC. The guy he had doing heads did some pretty amazing head work for super stock and stuff where they're drastically moving the runners and all that. Pretty impressive when you're 1st seeing it!
