REALISTIC Downtown Waterfall Creates a KODAK moment | Cities Skylines Rochester New York

In the 7th episode of Cities: Skylines Rochester we are continuing to build the Northwestern side of Downtown, including Kodak Tower and Campus, the High Falls area also known as Brown's Race Historic District, The Metropolitan Tower at One Clinton Square, plus much more! My goal for these projects plan is to finish the cities in their present form so that I can use them as a basis to improve traffic, improve walk-ability, increase transit options and opportunities, and apply modern urbanism city planning techniques.

I always loved sitting along the first base line as a kid and looking up at Kodak tower during the night games. The red lights at the top made it look like a giant robot

Rochester native, here. FANTASTIC! Even the Spiritus Christi Church, seen from the stadium at 2:30, is instantly recognizeable. It's not exactly accurate to the appearance of the real building, but it's close enough that it fooled me for a moment.

There's a small, historic amusement park north east of downtown in Irondequoit called Seabreeze, I hope the map reaches up to that point, I whould love for that to be built in this series!

@@GaseousStranger I remember seeing a functional roller coaster that works as a network on the workshop, you could use that to build the Jackrabbit roller coaster, it was also the first coaster to have upstop wheels

@@GaseousStranger definitely make sure to include the unique cross walks if you can! also make sure to take note of how most streets in that area are named after colleges!

I’ll have to double check if I have despawning on or not! I usually keep it off for realism, but I did notice some pocket cars in this video 🤔

Thank you! I have an RTX 3090 card, but since I never surpass 12GB of VRAM usage, I would assume that the majority of the graphics setup I run would be able to be accomplished on a 3060 or similar card :)

The irony of Kodak basically helping to invent digital cameras, just to call it a fad.... Rochester should be a top tier tech hub on the East coast, but i suppose outsourcing all your manufacturing and completely eroding yourself from the inside out was just easier... 🤦‍♂

well they didn't necessarily believe it was afad it was more "we can't do digital it will hurt our primary business of making and selling film"

@@woody4077 They made a lot of excuses and justifications back in the 90's... but it all basically came down to they didn't feel like spending the money to update the infrastructure and evolve with technology they were creating, especially while they were already in the process of downsizing and outsourcing.
