This old Realistic still looks in good shape as if it's just came out of the factory. Obviously been well looked after, and it's sound quality still sounds good. Realistic were good competitors in their days they were up there with the best, glad to see it getting a new lease of life for many more years to come. Bravo!

Excellent as usual 🤙🇺🇸 Love the Realistic line of receivers and amplifiers. The Mach 1's were a beast!

It's been a good week. Just picked up a QTA- 770 and this STA-225 and I'm very impressed with this line of receivers. Am/Fm tuners are both excellent and it has a nice warm sound,probably putting out about 60 watts per channel. Plenty of power, reminds me of a Sansui at half the price. Don't hesitate to get one of these if you have a chance. Thanks for the review. Convinced me to find one.

I was cleaning mine and when I put it back together the dial needle lights the auto magic and tuning lights quit working. Are they daisy chained together? The bulbs for the Auto magic and tuning are good. So I'm figuring if one of the dial needle lights go out it takes those with it. Thanks

@@chtyan , you can get the service manual free at: hifiengine.com The schematic will show you how the lamps are wired, I don't recall how they are.

For the Tape 2 and Dub Out jacks on the front, do you need a 1/4” to male RCA cable? I’m guessing Tape 2 is Play and Dub Out is Record? Weird that it’s on the front panel.

Hey man, I’m having a specific problem with mine I was wondering if you had insight on it. When I turn on the radio (am or fm) the radio works for a few minutes before it simply goes quiet. No static. Nothing. Before it goes quiet it receives the signals extremely clear and loud, in stereo and all. Any thoughts?

Could you tell me what size wrench does it take to get the nobs off?
@luvradios5 ай бұрын
Ron, I don't actually know the size, decades ago I bought a small wrench kit from Japan that had various sizes needed for VCR & Camcorder work, all the sizes were written in Japanese. I would imagine any kit with small sizes would have the one you need.

What grease are you using for the sliders? Thanks :)
@luvradios7 ай бұрын
I used white lithium grease in this case but some sliders use damping fluid instead.

Close. The STA-225 was made by Foster Electric. Fostex was a Foster brand name at the time and was unrelated to receivers. All of the large receivers (STA-2000, 2000D, 2100, 2100D, 2300, 2080, 2290) were made by Tandy Electronics.
