As a Yemeni, forget how nice Oman is, Omani people are the nicest people on earth. Funniest people I’ve ever seen, but also the kindest and purest. You won’t see Haitians say that about DR or Koreans about the north. As for Yemen, you will see people blame other countries for our problems, but we have only ourselves to blame. Greed, backstabbing’s, ignorance, and hate towards each other. We made those countries interfere. Omanis put their faith in one leader who repaid them, while we got greedy and wanted to divide the harvest before we even planted the seeds.

Saudi Arabia is one of the countries to blame. Watch aljazeria documentary about the murder of Al hamdi. Yemen has not recovered from his death. Compared to the other GCC countries, Oman is still very slow and calm whereas other GCC countries like Qatar and UAE are miles ahead but still the peace and hospitality you will find in Oman is something you just cannot find in other GCC countries. His Majesty Sultan Qaboos was a legendary man. Under his reign, Oman boomed SO MUCH and he played a very important role in maintaining not just peace within the GCC but around the world.

When my father was alive he was probably America's top expert on Oman. There were only two other competitors but he deserved it. He loved exploring their caves and took many photos of their mountains. He wrote a tour book, met the sultan one and a half times, had ambassadors call him with questions. He discovered a geologic formation akin to New Hampshire's late Old Man of the Mountain and dubbed it Old Man of Oman. He was in the process of giving tours to Hollywood set location scouts and he worked with the Omani government to promote tourism too. Then a thing happened about 20 something years ago and nobody wanted to go to the middle east on vacation, ruining my dad's dreams. He said both on 9/10 and 9/12 the Omani didn't care to promote themselves. They were great. They knew they were great. They figured they didn't need to shout about how great they were. They thought people would just naturally want to come see their prosperous, happy, beautiful, peaceful nation. Talking about Oman isn't like talking about most minor countries that nobody can seem to find on a map. When i told people my dad was an expert on Oman they didn't say "where's that." They would say " what's that." Oman is a country so obscure people don't even know it's a country.

Great video. Visited Oman recently, and was blown away how much they managed to preserve their culture, architecture and such while still modernising the country. As opposed to the UAE which has kind of lost it's charm and character in the rapid drive towards development. Oman is far more authentic, and there is a certain "joie de vivre" there that you will find nowhere else in the Gulf region. Loved it, and can't wait to visit again.

@@itsover9008 You are not getting my point. The system is not inherently bad, that all depends on leadership. What I want to say is we should judge leadership more than the system itself. For example Stalin was bad, not just because of the system, but mainly because of his intentions and the actions he actually committed (which many of them were atrocities).

my grandfather was one of the first foreigners to go to Oman right after Sultan Qaboos came into power. they had to bring all their own machinery and basically beached the enormous freighter and had to offload by hand, first small cranes then use those for bigger machinery etc. They had to build their own roads and compound before they could even start with any sort of oil industry. My father and our family got posted there in the late 90s and when my grandfather visited us he couldnt believe his eyes. The only things he recognized were the ancient walls around the port of Muscat. i ended up growing up in Oman until the mid 2000s. It was an amazing place, super friendly people, beautiful landscapes etc The Sultan was very popular, may he rest in peace. and his chosen successor seems to be doing a good job continuing the policies. The people have developed a culture of tolerance and neutrality. there are ofc still massive issues with the treatment of low skilled guest workers, but thats not unique to Oman

To say that a country needs to exist without external influences is like saying that a person needs to exist without being influenced by anyone else in the world. It's unrealistic. As long as there are people around you they'll always try to influence you one way or the other. Sometimes they do it to further their own agenda, sometimes they do it thinking it's for your own good, sometimes they do it because they feel their own survival depends on it. Either way, no country can be free of external influence because countries are ultimately made up of people. And people will always have an agenda. A country's success or failure depends on its ability to further its own agenda without getting derailed by those of others. That's also true of individuals.

SALaM, SHLAMa, SHLOMo, SHALoM, NAMASTe, PEACe. The Star of David, Crucifix & The Crescent, Are Found In Hinduism. Vedas [Hindu Bible] Mentions Adam, Abraham, Moses, Noah & Muhammad, Within Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. Adam Was Swayambhu Manu (4000BC), Cain Was Indra (3200BC), Noah Was Vaivaswat Manu (3000BC), Abraham Was Rama (2100BC) Moses Was Krishna (1500BC), Mahamada Was Muhammad. Origins in the Indus Valley. Hinduism Vedas = Monotheism Guru Books = Trinity & Polytheism. Hinduism Was The Largest Monotheistic Religion In Ancient Times, But When They Added The Trinity And Polytheism, The Religion Declined. The Holy Kaaba was recorded by the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus before Christ Era. In John (4:21-24) Jesus Christ also told that woman that neither at Jerusalem nor in its mountain God will be worshipped, why? CLEARLY, THE PLACE & DIRECTION OF WORSHIP WOULD BE CHANGED TO THE FINAL TEMPLE SINCE THE HOUR IS ABOUT TO COME!. Because God is Spiri*t, therefore, the *true worshippers would worship HIM as spirit & not as God Incarnate in human form. The Kaaba, a black cubical building at the center of the Grand Mosque of Mecca; it is the most sacred site in Islam. The Jewish Tefillin [Prayer Leather Box] With The Seven Straps Around The Arms, Relates To The Seven Circumambulation Around The Kaaba. They Witnessed The First Human Period Rain, Which Becomes The Zam Zam [Named By Hagar In Egyptian - Stop Flowing] Well. Then God Sends An Asteroid From The Heavens, Which Lands, Which Is Later Placed On The Corner Of The Kaaba [First Temple]. The Kaaba Akin To King Solomon's Temple, As Been Destroyed And Rebuilt. Indian Hindu's also put a red dot, on their heads, to connect to the Kaaba, All Lost Knowledge, From Time. All The Prophets Of God, Went To Becca [Now Mecca] For The Hajj [Pilgrimage] Adam & Eve Built The First Temple There, With Witnessing The First Rain From The Heavens. Akin To King & Prophet Solomon's Temple, It Has Been Destroyed And Rebuilt. It Was Destroyed After The Flood Of Noah, Then Abraham Rebuilt It, With His Second Wife Hajar, Whom Founded The First Spring Again, After It Was Lost In Time [Called Zam Zam - Egyptian For Stop Flowing]. Psalms 84 [Books Of David]: Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage [Hajj]. As they pass through the Valley of Baca [Now Mecca], they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God.. Quran [Last Testament]: 95. Say: "(God) speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the same in faith; he was not of the Pagans." 96. The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka [Now Mecca]: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings: 97. In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to God,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, God stands not in need of any of His creatures. The Word Tefillin Derives From Tawaf, Circumambulation Around The Kaaba. Adam & Eve Were Sent Down Separately, They Both Meet Up In The Valley Of Becca [Now Mecca]. Whenever A Scripture Becomes Corrupted, Then God Almighty Sends A Update [Similar To Windows Or Apple IOS]. Vedas [Corrupted - Mixed Falsehood With Truth] Avesta [Corrupted - Mixed Falsehood With Truth] Cannon [Corrupted - Mixed Falsehood With Truth] Book Of Enoch [Corrupted - Mixed Falsehood With Truth] Psalms [Corrupted - Mixed Falsehood With Truth] Torah [Corrupted - Mixed Falsehood With Truth] Quran [Final Update - Gods Sealed With White Magic]. Any Verse Within The Above Scriptures Before The Quran, Have Some Authentic Verses And Some Corrupted, Apply Logic: See God's Pattern: Torah [Old Testament]: Eye For An Eye, Tooth For A Tooth [A Life For A Life]. Gospel [New Testament]: Turn The Other Cheek [Full Pardon]. Quran [Last Testament]: Blood Money [Compensation]. Let The World Open Their Eyes, From Adam & Eve To All The Scriptures Sent By God Almighty Alone, The Jealous God With No Partners, Unite Mankind We Are One With The Same One God, Without The Any Form Of Trinity, Kinship Or Partners. Pure Monotheistic Hinduism Is ISLaM, Pure Monotheistic Zoroastrian Is ISLaM, Pure Monotheistic Buddhism Is ISLaM, Pure Judaism Is ISLaM, Pure Monotheistic Christianity Is ISLaM, Pure ISLaM Is The Path Of Abraham The Friend Of God & Noah The Great Servant Of God. @@deadaeninixxx I hate to say this, for fear of sounding like a jerk, but I've been to Indonesia. As a man of mixed race, I personally experienced racism from Indonesians, while there. My experience in Indonesia was markedly different than that of my white colleagues, with whom I was sharing the trip. The clashed between your people and the Yemenis in Indonesia may be due to cultural differences and the fact that Yemenis, like most Arabs, don't take kindly to being disrespected. There seems to be an inherent bias in many Asian nations, favoring people with light skin tones, whilst shunning those with darker complexions. I would hazard the guess that the dismissive treatment I received in Indonesia is not too dissimilar to how Yemenis are welcomed there.

I gotta qualify this. I'm someone who hates ads so much that I get angry whenever anyone brings them up, be it sponsors or plugging their own videos. I immediately skip them as soon as I smell the ad, which usually happens before they drop the name. However for this video, you integrated it into the content so well that I didn't notice up until I was already interested in the "plot" of the ad, so I actually watched it till 41:45 when it turned into a canned ad. What I watched was infinitely more effective in making me consider the service than the canned ad, which I didn't even give a chance. I hope they pay you and other people skilled enough to do this more for doing it, b/c it is effective and far less irritating.

@@pikapi6993 You've obviously misread my comment, and confused comparison with justification. Saying something is relative doesn't excuse or justify whatever it is you're relating, but compares - or relates - it with other beliefs or practices to see where it stands on a ladder of greater or lesser extremes, nothing more ir less. Thus comparing Oman with other Middle East practices doesn't necessarily justify whatever it is Oman is doing, but rather, merely evaluates where Oman stands *relative* to other practices which are even more extreme.

True, but lots of countries have wars, and bounce back in a few years. The Saudis aren’t helping, but they are pretty far down the list of things that have hurt Yemen, with their own civil wars and long history of corrupt leaders interested in only their own wealth/power being by far the main factors. There is something called the Fundamental Attribution Error, where we tend to blame external factors for when things go wrong for us, but attribute success to our own actions. But if things go wrong decade after decade after decade …..it’s usually us that are the main problem. And there are likely 20 other factors not mentioned in the video: lack of women’s rights is almost always associated with impoverished countries (with few exceptions, such as Saudi Arabia relying on oil wealth), the effect of malnutrition in childhood, etc.
