nice review! thank you! The RRS stuff looks like it is great for the intended purpose, but the quality it exudes also appears to give some aethestic satisfaction.

RRS also have another version of the BH-30(full-size) that has a spirit level. From what I can understand, this version does not come with the TQC-14 tripod "package". In order to get the level bubble version with the TQC-14, order the standalone tripod and ball head separately...for an extra $15USD. The option is there for those interested...

I don't know what that first head is. It has two notches, which is BH-55, but it has the knobs like those of the BH-40. Which is it?

One thing I'm surprised that you didn't point out, is that the BH-30 doesn't have a drag knob
