What an amazing clinician. Saying “this takes a lot of different medications to tackle it but the most important thing is that you are sticking to it” is so great and empowering for patients and keeping up with compliance. Helps people to feel that even if it isn’t perfectly cured yet, they know that they are in control of their own health and their life and it is one thing that they can control! Great work and she looks amazing!

As someone that has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 10 years, please believe me when I say it certainly pays to do your research on the contraindications of the medicines you've been prescribed.

I have have asked doctors specifically for a medication I researched based on my allergies and contraindications, 4 times now they send the prescription that violates all of my needs. And a few times the pharmacy dispensed generic which also was contraindicated, they say because the rx did not say not to substitute. My mom and I have been poisoned a couple times.

@@beverlyanne5699 do you have Eds or a hyper mobility spectrum disorder? Because there some co morbidities that often go along with it. Being on the autistic spectrum… But also mast cell activation disorder…I have loads of allergies too. Another is dysautonomia and POTS postural orthotic tachycardia syndrome. I’ve self diagnosed myself on Eds and pits…arguing to be sent to specialists. Both times I was told that’s very rare, you won’t have that! There was a nurse practitioner who also said it’s mast cell, she’s left. That’s my next battle! She also agreed it was PITS, I’d fallen for years, but in different ways. I got shrugged shoulders, until I smashed my face on a kerb and almost broke both wrists. The a & e dr knew about Eds, did loads of x rays, several ecg because my bp etc we’re going nuts and referred me to find out why I was blacking out. All I want is help to manage them. I don’t want a long list of conditions, I rarely tell anyone or give a brief description of hyper mobility.

So many people don't get diagnosed until they're in their 40s or later and it means that a lot of people end up with long term damage that could've been prevented.

I’ve had Crohn’s for over 30 years, and knew immediately that her problem was autoimmune. When my disease is flaring, I’ll get bumps like that. My dr diagnosed it as Erythema Nodosum. Get the Crohn’s under control and the skin issues will resolve. Wishing this sweet young lady all the best. I’d also like to tell her that no two Crohn’s patients are the same. What works for one may or may not work for you. Be patient and try different meds. For me, diet changes had no effect, but others are adamant that they are “cured” by eliminating something or other. Be kind to yourself! ❤️

This is true with Lupus as well. I’ve had some people swear on everything that “such and such” cured them, and someone else say that made them worse. Dr Emma is amazing. I wish all medical professionals listened from the start and checked some basic medical history. This would help to minimise the wrong medication being given for an illness the patient doesn't have. I have ulcerative colitis and I was prescribed azathioprine and my body broke out into an angry rash and took 2 weeks to settle down. Awful. I was then prescribed mercaptopurine and allopurinol to minimise side effects. Another immunosuppressant that didn't suit me. Finally found a biologic that works good, adalimumab. It's very much trial and error when finding the cause of issues, diagnosis and then treatment. It does help immensely to have appropriate tests such as ones Dr Emma has done to get to the truth and limit patients' suffering.

Fabulous result - soo pleased for Eleisha. Also, just in regard to Crohn's disease & the commonality of also having other AI conditions - it could be just the lighting & camera angle, but I think I can see Eleisha may also have a goiter ie possible thyroid disorder?? Most noticeable @1:09, 2:28, 3:46, 8:21-23, 9:24-42 I used to have a very similar looking neck (of which i disregarded as excess weight after 4th child) but my Dr noticed it when I went to see him about something completely different. Yeah, she could have one. I wouldn't say it's a massive worry unless she's symptomatic. Some people just have goiters but their thyroid functions perfectly and they have no complications. But it would be good to check out in case, especially having an autoimmune disorder. I funnily enough have clinical hyperthyroidism and a toxic multinodular goiter. It's not visible at all. My thyroid is even inflamed at the moment. But I would definitely swap for a harmless, visible goiter. The symptoms are horrible :/

It really pays to get a second opinion if you haven't seen improvements. I developed a problem with my skin where it would get irritated then 'scale over' causing large areas of skin on my arms and torso becoming tight and parchment like. It almost looked like burn scars. It ended up covering from under my breasts, down to my hips and down my arms including my armpits. When i moved my skin would crack and split. Ever had dry, cracked lips? It was like that over a large part of my body. I would cover up and hated the sight of my skin. I wouldn't even take photos of it. It took 2 years, 3 gps, 2 dermatologists and hundreds of dollars to finally get a diagnosis. The first dermitologist thought it was a form of ichthyosis and did a series of tests that came up negative. After that he wanted to send me for a CT scan. I wasn't happy with his attitude and didn't feel he was listening to me. I went to get a second opinion. It was a much better match. I FINALLY got a solid diagnonsis and treament plan. It was Granular Parakeratosis. It can be caused by a reaction to certain chemicals, particularlly benzalkonium chloride which is often used in non-alchohol based anti bacterial cleaning products and as a anti microbial additive in things like nose sprays and eye drops. I was using an anti-bac soak that had it in so i was literally in contact with it 24/7. I stopped using the soak and started noticing improvments with in a few weeks but it took several months for my skin to heal fully. I make sure i avoid it when possible and i haven't had issues since.

Amen to that! Glad you got a second opinion! I have multiple health conditions and over the years I’ve had 2 separate 2nd opinions. 1st when I was a teenager and was diagnosed with Chairi Malformation (which I do have) but my surgeon was saying I just had to live with the awful, debilitating, symptoms which basically confined me to bed most of the day. We found a new surgeon on the other side of the country (uk) and my health improved immensely! Second time was just recently when I came down with mysterious neurological symptoms, neurosurgery said it there wasn’t anything wrong so I was passed to the neurologist, 2 years later between the 2 departments I still hadn’t had an MRI or even a blood test and did have and so I found a new DR. I had a diagnosis within 6 months. Crazy!

I am pretty sure I have ichthyosis myself. I've had horribly dry skin all my life, with eczema in areas (depending on stress levels!) My grandfather also had pretty much identical skin. I always described it like "peeling sunburn" because doctors, beauticians, etc never could understand how my skin actually acted - it literally sheds too fast. The advice from everyone (medical and in salons after a massage, etc) is to drink more water and moisturise more. But the way I describe it to them is that once sunburn/tan has started to peel, no amount of moisuturier/lotion/anything will make it "restick" and stop being that dry, flakey skin that is peeling off, and my skin is exactly the same. Once it "starts" to go, the only option is for me to exfoliate it and literally scrub it off. When my skin gets dry (say I shower and don't moisturise) if you look closely, it literally looks like little scales similar to snakes! My doctor has always just told me I have "dry skin" and over the years I have mostly figured out how to cope with it (minimal showering/baths, moisturising after all water contact, exfoliating fully once a week, given up on any attempts at fake tans or getting a tan on hols, etc). But watching an episode of Doctor Pimple Popper she had an older man with legs that looked just like my grandfathers' legs did (and that mine would if I didn't follow my "routine") and it was ichthyosis according to her. When I looked it up online, I ticked pretty much all of the boxes for it. It kinda was a relief to (unofficially) have a name for it, rather than my skin just being "weird" or "dry". When the world settles down I might push my doctor to refer me to a dermatologist, but even then I'm not sure I'll bother because I don't think they can do anything for me as I have a fairly good grip on it as long as I stay on top of my little routine!
@jadedbelle4788
@jadedbelle4788 2 жыл бұрын
@@LovelyLawla i'm sorry you've had to go through that all your life. Ichthyosis seems to be often hereditary from what i read but i didn't have any family history of it. Your routine sounds pretty similar to what i was doing when my skin was at its worst. It was very time consuming but it had to be done. I would soak in epsom salt baths and use a natural pumice stone to lightly scrub my skin, moisturise straight after a shower or bath, use only certain soap free bodywash and fragrance free moisturisers. My derm dr recommended a lactic acid cream to help soften and remove the dry, flaking skin. There are differentvstrenghs so maybe check with a dr first so you don't use to strong of a cream. I tried a urea cream and it hurt so much i cried and had to washnit straight off. If you do decide to go to a dermitologist they may wan't to do a skin biopsy to confirm ichthyosis (just a little fyi). Thats what i had to get done. Again, from what i read, there is no cure but they may be able to tailor a treatment routine to help manage it. Hope you find some relief and answers soon :)

How would you know if they're the right doctor or not before you've seen them? We all make appointments hoping that the doctor will be able to help. My thoughts on this are, don't stick with a doctor who is not helping or isn't listening to you. Get a second opinion, or find another doctor altogether.

I'm sad to say that I have zero faith in G.P's anymore. Dr Emma shows you what CAN be done if you have the means to pay for it and refer yourself to her privately.

Unfortunately, I also don't trust most doctors anymore - even specialists. Too many bad experiences with terrible consequences, being ignored, not believed, not listened to - even though I know my body and can tell when something's off... I'm terminally ill now when I didn't have to be, and it makes me both sad and angry.

I noticed that her neck is quite puffy. Could there be a Thyroid issue?
@ozgal6929
@ozgal6929 3 жыл бұрын
Yes Kathy, I noticed that too. At age 23 my thyroid gland killed itself off via an auto immune process called Hashimoto's. It took two years to be diagnosed and it almost took my life as i went into a myxedemic coma, my heart rate was 24 beats a minute, I suffered severe angina due to oxygen deprivation.. I tend to always look out for thyroid swelling now on others because I'd hate to see someone else go through the agony and pain of what I endured for 4 years. I hope this young lady goes to a thyroid specialist, pref someone who deals with holistic healing with natural hormone replacement.

@@ozgal6929 oh dear that is awful for you. My Step Sister and Step Brother also have what you have. After my second Baby was born and I lost all the weight I found a golf ball sized lump in my neck. It was a benign adenoma. I had surgery to have half of my thyroid removed alas it has all grown back and is full of nodules. I now have multi nodular goitre! Like you I notice when someone has a puffy neck and suggest they have it checked. Most thank me after they have treatment or surgery. Ever the watchful Empath...🤗🤗🤗

I noticed too... I’ve got hypothyroidism and the symptoms of crohn’s, as well has about 10 different skin diagnoses... but underlying all is something called MCAS. Makes a HUGE difference to treat the underlying causes.

LMAO 🤣 "BitChute is a video hosting service known for accommodating far-right individuals and conspiracy theorists, and for hosting hate speech.[a]" "Med Bed technology has been “suppressed” and hidden from the public for a long, long time. Fortunately, due to the planetary shift from 3D to 5D happening at this time, and the increasing demand for transparency by the human collective consciousness, an increasing number of courageous people are coming forward to disclose what they know has been hidden for decades, even centuries, and most likely for thousands of years. Two of these courageous souls are Ileana the Star Traveler (her internet name) and Jared Rand."

I thought so. Prurigo Nodularis is a secondary skin condition but I want to know what causes it. I have the diagnosis of NP but I'm convinced it's something more sinister. Anyway, mine started on my legs and now it's completely pervasive. I have to say I think this girl is very lucky in that she is coping and she still appears attractive and clearly has the capacity to maintain a romantic relationship. This condition is so much worse for people of colour (including severe hyperpigmentation) but the NHS professionals don't seem to be catering any support to the marginalised folk.

I don’t imagine doctors have missed that and not tested it. I had a cystic thyroid that was becoming a goiter. It was not visible, and they noticed it while feeling my neck and glands during an annual check-up. Her meds could be causing her thyroid issue. Steroids can really cause some people to swell in weird ways/places as well.
