Mowing a field in real time. Same field without the music and time lapse. Just the sound of the engine and the grass being cut.

Hey mate I got a tip for you I did landscape gardening for 10 years I went on the right on you do 4 laps around facing into the lawn then you turn around and throw it back on top of what you've cut then you don't make a mess all over the concrete and you make a little mess but not

A large chunk of my lawn started out as a garden, then hay and finely a rye field. I started mowing and watering it. Started adding grass seed after a bit. After the grass was well established I started weed spray and fertilizer. Its a nice lawn now.

@jimclark89577 жыл бұрын
What was that plot of land used for that required mowing? Doesn't look like a residence or a commercial sight for that matter.
@Something2LookAt7 жыл бұрын
It is just part of a large county park property, thus they come in to mow with a brush hog occasionally. Curiously I think it's being converted to soccer fields right now.

Would you recommend any other lawn mowers that are cheaper but cut as good as that scag??
@enri_19867 жыл бұрын
Well I am not the lawn mower expert, but consider looking in a John Deere commercial grade one. They cut great but a little heavy on the price$
@Something2LookAt7 жыл бұрын
I haven't used any. There are many that mow as well from what I can see, but I don't see ones that are cheaper. I think there will be soon because I can see new models adopting the front baffle and sloped front idea. I see it on Cub Cadet pro and I'm anxious to try it. That would be about $8K vs $11K.

cub cadet rztl mowers cut very well i know that they are residential but they cut great

Since I recently started watching your videos I have been considering a scag cheetah, however I am kinda on the fence still about getting a bad boy maverick. Have you heard anything about them?
@Something2LookAt5 жыл бұрын
Oh, our local golf course bought a Bad Boy and it breaks a lot on them. For comparison, my Cheetah is 6 years old and it's never been in the shop. Just sayin'...
@MrVanceSanders5 жыл бұрын
@@Something2LookAtThanks for the reply, I am very impressed with how your scag performs. And 6 yrs still running strong definitely says alot about the build quality. I just recently started doing lawn work on the side (I work a 7 on 7 off schedule at work) helps keep me busy. I currently have a Toro Timecutter 4225ss and the cut quality is good, however I don't have the power the get thru the knee high stuff like you can get thru. Go figure it's just a basic residential but I'm definitely shopping around to make another purchase in February
@garyflores89924 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with him I have a scag turf tiger diesel 61” and it works like a beast . And I find my self often watching his videos love how he takes his time with every pass , it’s hard to find employees to take take of the equipment like an owner would do.

Man I still can't figure out how you manage a zturn without ear protection.... after you responded to my last comment on this topic saying your hearing was still fine I went out and mowed a tiny patch of grass on my McCullough lawn tractor without my usual professional-grade earmuffs. 2.5hrs later my hearing recovered :/
@nankervisj7 жыл бұрын
then again it sounds like you only use half to 3/4 power whereas I use full
@Something2LookAt7 жыл бұрын
Well, I think the throttle was up all the way this time. I don't recall exactly but this is the type of area where I actually would have it all the way up. On hearing, I suppose I'm just used to it. I think the body develops resistances to things it's exposed to over and over. Curiously though, I did just experience some hearing issue while operating a hammer drill during hurricane prep. That was noticeably louder than a mower and I got my Husqvarna ear protectors. Amazing product. Gosh, I don't even think I would hear an ambulance if it was behind me.
@pizzasub31947 жыл бұрын
nankervisj Personally i find that i don't need ear protection when i use mowers. But when i use a weed eater that's when i consider using ear protection

How do you know what's in all that tall grass - like rocks and other objects that might blow your machine? Do you walk it first to check or just jump on the cheetah and go for it?
@Something2LookAt6 жыл бұрын
LOL, oh, far too often I just "jump on the Cheetah and go for it." But I do always try to remember to search the yard. What I should do is go over it once with the deck all the way up, to expose any obstacles without hitting them. Then mow at the desired height.

hello..I am about to start a business in france and I am looking for ideas..I see you go back over the grass already cut just to push all the residue to a side..wouldn't a machine which picks up the grass be more effective..Are there cons to such a landmower ..and hense the reason you chose one which don't ?
@Something2LookAt4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if your machine picks up the grass and collects it, then you have to put it somewhere or take it with you somewhere. My goal is always to leave with nothing. :)
@lion-of-lucia11584 жыл бұрын
@@Something2LookAt OK I FEEL YA..you do pick up though when you are in a residential area ,or you are able to spread it across? thank you for responding..
@DavidC17 жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to see this cut in a circle pattern since you have to keep the clippings away. every time around the circle gets bigger type of pattern like a spiral sort of.
@Something2LookAt7 жыл бұрын
On a big area like this it would build up too thick by the time you reached the outer part. I did do a video on a spiral cut though. Take a peek here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ipuYhcx4uZeckas.html

You could mow the entire outside area blowing outward. You should end up in the middle. And you just reverse it and you're clearing off the entire field. After all them blank runs you are running down his wasting gas. And your time. And there's better things you could be doing with that money
