Hi Matt ! Best review again ! I am 70 kg . I have the 60 liters FG that I want to keep . Kind of confuse Which one of the ML should I pick for a second board for light air . Don’t want to go with a DW board . Mostly wing foiling on lakes in Canada .. thanks again for your input

If you are getting it for light wind winging only then get the 85L. It is still really sporty and feels great. You could get the 75L but don't gain much on performance and it will be less stable.

Wow.board looks awesome! I'm 70 kg, seems like it would be a good light wind wing board but could also handle stronger winds?

Yeah I have ridden the 55L in 10-35 mph. Felt good in all. The nose is so narrow that there is very little windage pushing that nose down.

But you have other boards in the car in the North Nova review😉 Still using the 48L FG? Would you say the ML55 gets up in lighter winds than the FG60 v1?
@REALmattnuzzo
@REALmattnuzzo 24 күн бұрын
Ha ha. Good eye. North Nova Pro review was shot about a month and a half before the Midlength review. The ML55 is more technical to kneel on than the 60L but it does take off in lighter air than the 60L FG. I would say if you want a ML of similar size and feel to the FG 60L, then get the 65L Midlength.

@@REALmattnuzzoOk Thanks, actually have the fg48 as my new go-to. But thinking the 55 could work as a lightwind option and prone crossover

The problem is to find a European dealer, shipping costs are so high I normally ride with a 54L F-one board, I'd like to have a ML for downwind and light wind, do you suggest a 65 or 75? tnks man!

We ship world wide through Delta Air Cargo. You would have to pick it up at the airport cargo terminal but we can get it there. We are shipping cargo this Thursday. I would recommend for DW and light wind the 75L.

How is it a quiver killer? For winging I’d use 55L, but that way more volume/size then I’d want for surf foiling…
@REALmattnuzzo
@REALmattnuzzo 24 күн бұрын
That is what I thought until I surfed the 55L and was getting into waves earlier, as well as not loosing much in pump and turn. The ML 55 is a very different feel to my FG Surf 34L but the ML does have some advantages like easy take off and turning that I was not expecting for a board that is 21L larger.

how are you sizing these mid lengths (not just Armstrong) if you want something to complement your smaller board, to use for marginal conditions? I think 70% of your weight-as-volume is a sweet spot for an everyday board. So do you go same volume, just longer/narrower? or do you bump up volume?... maybe something like 80% weight-as-volume? or do you go equal or more volume than your weight? thanks
@REALmattnuzzo
@REALmattnuzzo 26 күн бұрын
Yeah about 75% of your weight in my is about the right liters.
@touheyKyle
@touheyKyle 26 күн бұрын
@@REALmattnuzzo thanks Matt. I have one that is about my weight as volume, and it feels wrong. It would be better to go either smaller or bigger. I prefer my smaller semi-sinker, and not sure the volume on my Midlength is adding any benefit (but the length does).
@REALmattnuzzo
@REALmattnuzzo 24 күн бұрын
@@touheyKyle Yeah I bumped up in volume about 10L for the ML from my wing board and 20L from my prone board. If you are just using it for light wind winging then I would say go 20-25L more than your sinker or performance wing board. If you are using it as a cross over prone and wing board then 10-15L more than your sinker is probably right.

Gen 2 Foil Drive works totally fine without the accessory antenna. If the nose of the board is out of the water, the connection is 100%. This board is super efficient too, so it gets on plane with Foil Drive really easily which saves battery too.
