I am SO GLAD they didn't make the whole fight have epic music and sold that the fight was supposed to be a sad as hell moment with Kafka acting like a complete monster and nearly killing his friends father IN FRONT OF HER. Genuinely made the wait for one of my favorite fights from the manga worth it.

Kikoru and Reno are 18-19. The anime changed the line about her being 16 after college, the proper line was that she started college at 16. She's old enough for the military but not to drink yet.

"People in the comments proven wrong" I can't speak for majority of them, but I can confidently say that some like me weren't saying that they WILL do the weapon thing to him, just that the thought of them going straight to the decision in this episode of using him ALIVE would make ZERO sense in the story and be horrible writing. Until Kafka proved that even if he went out of control he could be brought back to his sense, the most logical decision for Non-Trash story telling is to convert him. Side note: Most people say things like that just for the sake of conversing and talking hypotheticals. Alot of us know damn well what the outcome will be because it's called a "Trope" for a reason, but it's fun thinking about the at-the-moment logical decisions instead of the "Main Character is just gonna get a second chance so who cares?" thought process XD

So to answer from a question in the beginning. The Axe from Kikoru is from a normal kaiju, the numbered waepon and suits arent split up and i dont think its even possible. The handling of numbered Equipment is also something most cant do. So they got stuff in the warehouse, not everything is in use. Lets take number 2 for example, the director is the first user ever

THIS WAS FIRE AND KAFKA KAIJU GOT SOME TRICKS UP IT'S SLEEVE 4:21 it really made a DECOY BODY and regenerated from his detached core. kikoru dad was actually pretty cool, I thought he was just an asshole. I love how everyone was happy for kafka. #9 is weird cause it seemed like he had a clone, also wouldn't a high tech company know if someone had hacked into their system cause he had a WHOLE MAP of the base? Sherm you were spitting fire because a Kaiju #8 game with a monster hunter format would be insane!

5:04 Think it’s to avoid the “-kun” “-san” “-sama” honorifics. They’re all in the service, and none of them has a rank outside of Mina and Hoshina. That, _or_ there’s another Hibino or Kafka in their ranks we’re not really supposed to “know” yet.

Kikoru's not 15 lmao. The JSDF only accepts 18 year olds even in real life. She's 18-19. They wouldn't let a child join the force no matter how brilliant they are lol
