When i think of Aizen in my minds eye, its always one scene that i think of. Not any of the moments where he's showing some crazy feat or being cruel. Its always the moment where he's being sealed by Urahara's kido after Mugetsu. Looking at the two who proved they can stand beside him in power and intellect (respectively Ichigo and Urahara) and absolutely panicked and frustrated with why they can't see the world the way he does. Why they can't see the need for change that he does.

Aizen and Madara are manga’s and anime’s greatest ever villains. Oh, and this coming from a guy whose favorite villain is Freeza. Why are they the GOAT? Simple. For a villain to be truly formidable, he has to be the antithesis to the message put forth by the tale in a way that does not conflict with the development of the story, i.e. Madara’s desire to unite everyone by way of an illusion as opposed to the message of Naruto which is to foster unity by way of trial and error, and Aizen’s desire to supplant god by virtue of his selfishness whereas god is selfless, literally and figuratively. Other villains are too narrow, they simply stand in for brute strength or absolute cunning as foils for the hero to showcase how he can overcome said strength and/or cunning. Freeza is perhaps the perfect example of this dead brained approach, specially with how recycled he has been recently. I’ll probably never replace Freeza as my favorite but he definitely has his betters in Madara and Aizen. This is the one issue One Piece has had, a lack of truly formidable villains.

Kubo doesn't like backstories. He barely gave anything about ginjo and yhwach in the manga as well. He explained more in light novels through narita about those villians but still didn't go in details.
@praz78 күн бұрын
Let me do a backstory, this is very long and based on unmasked databook, light novel etc. Aizen was probably born to regular soul reapers who were born in Rukongai but through sheer efforts elevated themselves to living in sereitei. Aizen's father probably died when he was little, his mother's health got bad due to being in his presence as his reiatsu would affect her due to it being so high and out of control. He would often go to rukongai to see how things are there, however he would see the conditions of rukongai and feel disgusted by the stagnation and decadence. The kids his age would often avoid him due to his reiatsu being so high and also due to his ability to just read people through a single interaction, many would come to hate him and mistrust him. Thus Aizen would end up keeping his distance from the people and even his own mother. However her illness would get out of control and she would eventually die. Aizen would then move to shinigami academy to meet people like him as he would expect people with shinigami potential to be much stronger. However he would mask his true potential all along as well his true intellect in order to fit in better. There he would come across a few popular seniors with excellent shinigami potential such as hirako Shinji, Rojuro, Aikawa Love, Kensei etc. His classmates would be Lisa, hiyori, hachigen, mashiro. Lisa would be somewhat of a Kudere, hiyori would be familiar with Shinji, hachigen would be a loner, mashiro would be familiar with Kensei. Aizen would be interested in those people as they demonstrate extremely high combat abilities out of all the shinigami in their year. So he would create circumstances to gauge their powers, manipulate the things just to see how far they go. However he would come to realise that admiration is furthest thing from understanding. Hirako Shinji would even suspect that these circumstances were created by someone that pushed them in danger. Aizen would take a more upfront approach and try to communicate with them, however they would not show any interest. Shinji would see glimpse of Aizen's true potential in terms of strength and intelligence while supervising his class during some training event. Shinji would also have his shikai abilities awakened and it would tell him that Aizen is two faced(death save the strawberry reference). Hence Shinji would start treating him with caution. Eventually Shinji and co would graduate from academy and end up in different divisions. Aizen would graduate after that, realising that he's already reached his limits as shinigami, unable to grow stronger. At the same time he would realise that he's surpassed all soul reapers and awakened an insane zanpakto ability. Hirako Shinji would recommend Aizen Sosuke to fifth division to keep an eye on him. Years would pass and Aizen would eventually come across a prodigy that shihouin clan took in years ago, Urahara Kisuke. Another person of around same age as him with immense spiritual pressure and a scientific genius. Aizen would keep an eye on him, thinking maybe he could find an ally there. However he would soon realise that this person is complete inversion of him. He has no ambition of bringing a drastic change and would rather things change organically. However to him that's just putting up with something you shouldn't have to put up with. Which is why Aizen would decide he is going to bring a change on his own and make people acknowledge him for it. Then they'd have no option but to look at him. He would start experimenting with souls, eventually come across hogyoku as solution. While doing so he would find out the truth about soul society. He would be shaken further by it, questioning every single thing in existence. He would eventually realise there's no royal family and soul king and everything is a facade and why things are the way they are in the world. He who always questioned about the existence of hollows, aimless souls who devour others and shinigami forced to slay them, Quincy who kill hollows because they hurt their loved ones thus causing imbalance of souls. This would eventually shape the Aizen we know.

Why doesn't Aizen have a backstory? For the same reason that one of; if not THE greatest villain of all time, The Joker, doesn't have a backstory. "But, ACKSHUALLY, The Joker does have a backstory!" Which one? Tell me which is the canon story... Furthermore it got so bad that when Batman got the Mobius chair and asked who The Joker really was, the chair showed him that there have been multiple Jokers throughout time thus simultaenously "canonizing" ALL of his backstories and none of them at the same time... While also creating a whole new theory/backstory that The Joker isn't actually a person but the personification of pure malevolence and chaos.
