That is a good way to add variety! I used velocity controls extensively in this particular melody to keep them dynamid, but I agree with your comment. Sounds like you and I have a passion for making electronic instruments sound as authentic as possible.

My favourite reaktor instrument is in fact a sampler, Vectory by Tim Exile. We're modding it to be able to utomate more parameters and work together with a Wii-mote and a Korg Pad Kontrol. We've dubbed our version the OXO-box after our bedroom record label OXO Unlimited. My own next project will be to build a TB-like aid synth and to that an completely "analogue" drum machine. (Ie, not sample based) Another favourite of mine is Grobian, perfect for wobbly dustep basses.

The accelerometers and the tilt-meter are used for things like pitch sweeps for the granular resynthesis and filter sweeps, and other parameters. The buttons are used for FX on/off and changing of clips to loop. Thet time 3:03 AM here (Awesome) so I'm going to bed. Tomorrow I'll zip up Grobian and send it to you. It doesn't come with the standard library. Funny thing is that the only reason I discovered it in the first place is because I was asked to mod it to include temposync for the LFO's.

Vectory is awesome indeed. But given that it is tempo-based (slicers typically are), what would the Wii-mote be acting upon? Are you using it to send midi triggers, or is it orientation/acceleration-based controller effects? sounds like a fun thing to play with. My Reaktor didn't come with Grobian!(I don't think) Is the download available somewhere?

Oh, I realize I haven't commented your video at all. It's a good tutorial. I only have one little remark. It applies more for melodies where the hits are closer to each other. You should generally try to find and list thos hits that are playing the same note (Or more often for me, the same drum intrsument in a drum loop) and alternate between them. That way the melody seems less plastic since you never have two hits in a row that ar 100% identical.

AcePincter: I tried R4, but I didn't like the new sequencer. Thor is interesting, but since I've started to work more and more in Reaktor, so Thor doesn't feel essential to me. To the extent that I actually use Reason, I too will stick with 3.0.

You're right about the last two, but I am a bit insulted by your characterization that Knowledge = 'Songs You'd Like'. Besides, this was one of my first attempts at a song, almost a year old now. I just re-used it to showcase an idea I thought was useful.
