those 3 are the oldest players. players now a days HAVE to wear a visor one they enter the nhl. chara , martin , reaves were around before that rule change so they got that rule grandfathred in for them. I think as of today Martin and jamie Benn and reaves might be only ones now

Did Ross actually ask him? I don’t seem to remember it other than them taking a few runs at each other. But I do remember watching Chara give him a tap at the end of a shift after he hit Clutterback. Regardless this was pitiful Reaves would easily beat Chara at least my opinion. We gotta think Reaves and Johnston fight next season right?

@@Anderson-ns9st I certainly hope so. I was disappointed that The Islanders and Rangers have two of the toughest guys in the league and... nothing. That really sucks when you think about it. I don't know exactly if Ross directly challenged Reeves to fight but if you watch the games you clearly see Reeves won't even look his direction. Even when Ross throws a big hit on him or looks to get his attention. Reeves doesn't look his way at all. We can see that he totally turned down Chara. I am not going to put the blame all on Reeves just yet but if this continues next season It's gonna start looking pretty pathetic. Islanders and Rangers are supposed be one of the best rivalries in the league. I think everyone would love to see an enforcer rivalry between Johnston and Reeves. It'd be like old times. But both players have to be willing.

@@wantutosigh1117 totally agree and I was very surprised Reaves didn’t end up fighting one Islanders this season, I remember Reaves and Johnston came together early on in the game like just a quick hit and Reaves or Ross really did anything but Ross did stand there as Reaves skated away. And man I’m really hoping Ross fights MacDermid and Reaves next season, those are the 2 I wanna see him fight most. Throw in Lucic as well. Lucic vs Johnston would be interesting Gudbrandson and Johnston was the most fun this season for me outta all fights tbh.

@@wantutosigh1117 I think all would beat both (besides Deslauriers maybe), I also said before Chara signed with the islanders that I don’t think it’s a coincidence he hasn’t fought any of those of those guys which I consider the only top tier heavyweights left (granted if there was more tough guys in the league some of them wouldn’t be on that list) He also turtled against Laraque twice but I really can’t hold that one to him. Chara’s fight card more is more in the tier b list in my opinion that being guys like: Martin, Maroon, Oleksiak, Wilson, Etc. I remember watching Islanders and capitals last season and Johnston looked ready to go with Chara but he took on Martin instead later on. I’ve also just flat out refused to think because he’s “taller and bigger” he’d win against my top tier list😂 That comment was also a small shot on Barry for not playing Johnston this game. Hopefully whoever gets the job doesn’t make this inexcusable mistake.

@@Anderson-ns9st Well Reeves turned down Chara this season so you can't really fault him there. It's the way it goes in the modern days. The toughest guys don't wind up fighting eachother too often anymore. Way less of them. In his career Chara has fought: Darren Langdon, Louie Debrusk, Paul Laus, Peter Worrel, Chris Simon, Scott Parker, Darcy Hordichuk, Kryzstof Oliwa, Eric Cairns, Raitis Ivanans, David Koci, Georges Laraque, Donald Brashear, Jody Shelley, Chris Neil, and more. Much better fight card than any of the HW's on your list. Most of these guys would be the HW champ of the league if they played now against todays competition. And Chara has very few bad losses against these guys. So I disagree that Chara would lose to all the guys you named. Only giving Chara the "taller and bigger" advantage is understating his advantage. Chara has BY FAR the longest reach ever in the NHL and he is super strong. All he has to do is get a grip on you with his left hand and get you extended out and keep that position and anyone is going to have a hard time reaching him. He's very hard to get a win over. Hopefully Lane Lambert dresses Ross Johnston regularly now and scratches Martin in favor of him. Martin is done. And hopefully Johnston and Reeves go next year.

And yes I agree Reaves turned down Chara, Geerstern turned down Johnston, Lucic turned down Reaves, just the way it goes and unfortunate the game has went that way.
