I think the songs supposed to be representative of how someone feels after being put onto anti depressants or other mood stabilizers. People who are a normal guy, who are no longer Part Of The Madness

I think it’s just generally about being in a traumatic environment/state of mind for a very long time and coming out of that and feeling an urge to be back in it again bcos of being unsure of who and what you are post ‘the thing’, whatever it may be, and having an identity related existential crisis because of that internal dissonance and anguish. I like how vague and universal the lyrics are to people who’ve experienced this kinda thing in various forms. Especially those who became post apocalyptic ice wizards, as many of us have. She’s so talented tbh

This song is so sad but it is perfect to describe how Simon feels after turning back from the Ice king. I wish Simon could actually get a happy ending with Betty but that won't happen. ):
