This trailer was premiered at Gamescom in Cologne where Zack said there will be a game coming out that takes place after the movies 😊

There’s a photographic quality to his slow motion that he uses to allow the viewer to digest the imagery completely. As a photographer, I love every second of the higher frame rate because of how beautiful it is to look at. I personally don’t think he is appreciated enough!

Just FYI there are no LIGHTSABERS in this. "These swords are powered by the gauntlets that she holds. The gauntlets are these ancient [artifacts] from her home world, and part of the rite of passage of being a warrior in her world is you have to cut your arm off, and then you put these kind of robot arms on. That allows you to wield these molten-metal blades,” Snyder says. Also the spider alien is Jena Malone. The hand and robot at the beginning is Jimmy the robot played by Anthony Hopkins.

Zack mentioned he had this idea back in college.. his words were "Dirty Dozen movie but in Space". Fast forward to 2010's when Disney acquired Star Wars.. Zack pitched that same idea as a Star Wars movie but with a finished script to Kathleen Kennedy. She turned it down cause it was too rated R to be Disney/Star Wars product. So he kept the script and just changed some things around.

Kathleen kenedy rejected zack's pitch because she don't want new characters to be introduced and want the star wars characters to be the same and too much r- rates for disney...so zack revised all his story and characters that involve star wars and created his own...so yeah im in for it!! With netflix getting it, they probably let zacks snyder do all his thing and allowed him to have freedom to do what he wants..

Speed ramping wasn’t originated by Zack. It was around for years before 300 and Watchmen. It used to be used to make establishing shots look more interesting in movie trailers. I remember it being used (over-used) in the trailer for one of the pierce brosnan james bond films, when he’s driving his Aston Martin across the ice. Pretty much any action movie trailer from the 2000s. I generally, cringe when I see it. Zack is kind of grandfathered in, but even in Watchmen, when he does it, I’m like, “Ugh…” It sort of makes sense in Watchmen because he was trying to capture specific images like panels in a comic. So, it feels like you’re flipping through a comic, see an epic splash page, and linger on it longer than the other panels. In that respect, it can be effective; but it’s never not slightly cheesy.

The reason ZS is so heavily associated with speed ramping is because of how the scene in 300 was shot. Zack and Larry Fong built a rig that allowed 3 cameras to film one shot simultaneously at wide, full and medium which allowed them to artificially zoom within the single take shot giving the speed ramp character by attaching it to zooming in or out depending on what part of the action he wanted you to focus on. Basically re-inventing how speed ramping would be used in the future by creating a new cinematic language.

Snyder pitched it to Lucasfilm a long time ago before J.J. Abrams developed the sequel trilogy, but it was rejected because he insisted to use new characters & the story was deemed too mature. This is like Star Wars + Doom + 300 + LotR merged into 1 big ass universe.

Just pure speculation, but this kind of feels like it may have been (at least originally) an idea for 1 of the Star Wars anthology films. Initially, I thought the Star Wars anthology films, starting with Rogue One, were all going to be about these local space war stories that took place on individual planets between the local inhabitants fighting back against The Empire invading/enslaving their own planet. This feels like an invasion story and the local inhabitants fight back in their own ways. But, it also feels very epic in scale like the local fight takes on a life of its own.

Epic space adventure movies should be seen on a big screen. This movie should be in theaters before streaming. I would like to see Netflix make a deal with the major theater chains to give Rebel Moon a one month exclusive window in over 900 theaters.

Yes, it is a necessity. And it would make money for sure. Snyder’s rabid fan base alone would justify a theatrical run. Amazon has adjusted to it as a primary streaming platform and Netflix should as well

Classic Zack.. a "teaser trailer" that's over 3 minutes long. 😂😂It's a "Snydercut teaser trailer". Awesome. This looks AMAZING, bring it on. Netflix helping our man get the job done, because Disney didn't want to know. Random director talking to Netflix, "I have an idea." Netflix, "What is it? How much is this going to cost? What planning have you done? Who is this going to involve? How much time is this going to take? We need all of the details upfront." Zack Snyder talking to Netflix, "I have an idea." Netflix, "Sure thing, Zack, what do you need?" 😂

Zack Snyder actually pitched a Star wars trilogy to Disney before he did Man of Steel it wouldn't involve none of the characters we've known back then but it was set in the Star wars universe but Disney turned it down for being too mature. Another Disney what if that we don't get to see...

I'm all in for new/non-franchise sci-fi but Snyder is very often the epitome of style-over-substance and doesn't have a great track record when it's his own story's he's filming. Also looking at some of those vfx the ambition certainly appears to out-paced the budget in some instances, hopefully they'll get a chance to polish it a bit more. Still...I'm cautiously intrigued.

I agree with Dustin, I worry this is going to be TOO overstuffed, which is a common failure of movies trying to be the next Star Wars, and also a recent issue with Zack Snyder himself. I hope this doesn't become as convoluted and overly complex as the trailer seems to be suggesting.
