I've always liked that both ahsoka and obi wan were only able to half unmask Anakin, but Luke was able to remove the whole thing. Really nice physical representation of George's vision of Anakin only being able to be saved by his son.

I assume because Vader felt betrayed and abandoned by Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, but he wanted Luke to join him

I also like how Obi-Wan and Ahsoka got different sides of his face: Kenobi got the left, while Ahsoka had the right, and like you said, Luke took off the whole thing.

I know everyone always mixes these up, but Concord Dawn and Concordia are two different places. Concordia is the moon of Mandalore, while Concord Dawn is some other Mandalorian colony. They are both in Mandalorian space, as far as I know.

Twilight of the Apprentice will always be my favorite Rebels episode! Again, when this episode released the last time these two saw each other was when Ahsoka walked away from Anakin and the Jedi. Seeing them duel in Rebels broke your heart knowing everything that they went through together in the Clone Wars.

I feel like the cartoons may just be the best modern manifestation of Starwars (Andor not withstanding). The medium of animation allows for a more indepth exploration of alien life, use if the force, space travel, space combat, and technology then is reasonably available in live action. Cartoons allow Jedi to truly be what we all imagined them to be, without the constraints of modern special effects technology and human limitations holding them back. Rebels is 100% required viewing, and the fact that NR is putting in this amount if effort to help out the community is amazing! 🤘

Honestly I see Chopper doing nothing wrong. The Galaxy is at war. They're Storm Troopers fighting for the Empire. So he just killed the enemy. War isn't pretty.

There is no such thing as a "filler episode" when Dave Filoni is involved... there's always a greater purpose that unfortunately goes unnoticed. For example, the Purgil episode was called a "filler episode" until the purpose of that episode that was later realized.

My favourite part of the cut mask is the symbolism of how both obi wan (master/brother) and ahsoka (apprentice/sister) were not able to free anakin from vader, symbolised by them cutting a different side of his mask in their own respective series. But it was Luke, Anakin's son, that was able to free him, symbolised by taken his whole mask being taken off, not by force either, but by choice.

Something I've just noticed at 0:55 when Vader motions to Minister Tua, his hand makes almost the same three gestures as the painting of the Mortis gods. Deliberate or not, its still pretty cool.

I wouldn’t call the forgotten droid a filler. Just like how all other team members had spotlight episodes about their past lives and what their future could have been Chopper had a bit of that too in that episode. It also leads to the rebels finding a base on atollon and in turn, Kanan finding Bendu

I just noticed that during the Jedi temple split up, if you pay attention to the background they foreshadow the world between by putting stars in Ezra's backdrop, but smokey for ahsoka's trouble seeing and accepting the truth and a glimpse into the past for kanaan.

17:01 It FULLY APPEARS in KOTOR 2... and the devastation of the planet was based around the Mandalorian Wars from Revan + Meetra Surik rather than the Sith (although there was a Sith Temple on the planet which was later used by Darth Traya/Sith Triumvirate).

While the spiders are based off the same knobby white spider design by Ralph McQuarrie the krykna are not the same creatures that were on Maldo Kreis in Mando Season 2.

16:19 It's very foolish to call "The Forgotten Droid" a "filler" episode. It is one of the greatest Chopper episodes and it gave us the the glorious AP-5. Thanks to the two droids and the coordinates they provided, Admiral Sato and the rebel fleet found safety on Atollon. Thus, Chopper and AP are the reason we meet the Bendu and they are indirectly the reason Thrawn encounters the mystical Force being.

I know the KOTOR games were mentioned but I’ll say it anyway so the Great War that happened on malachor was talked about in the 2nd game. The super weapon is the thing you have to stop at the end of the game. It’s a very important bit but idk if he’s played the games and maybe didn’t remember it. Hope I helped.

Not for nothing, but calling Chopper a war criminal is a bad take. He kills a lot of folks, but they were uniformed combatants in a declared conflict. It’s an important distinction that the Rebels are also a uniformed army with legal combatants.

Sith and Jedi power fluctuates over millenia. At one point, the Sith were more prominant, and in others, the Jedi were. Nevertheless, both groups were once in unison as the Jed'aii. So, to say one has more claim to history, is just wrong.

The term "filler episode" is so condescending. There are no "filler episodes", there are episodes you just don't _personally_ find value in. This is art, it's not a calzone. There is no "filler".
