I had a '64 Buick Skylark and my tinted vent window shattered when a rock jumped up from the LIE and took it out. The car was 30 years old and finding that glass with factory tint wasn't easy, I found a guy across from Shea stadium that ordered the glass for me and when I went there his worker broke the glass trying to remove the U channel. I was disappointed but the owner found another NOS piece. Cost me $110- 25 years ago! He put the glass into the channel with Black Silicone... I had no idea there was a gasket originally. Great stuff!

Thanks Bud!! Yeah I've seen them use Silicone or that Dum Dum stuff!! I feel sorry for the poor Bastid that would have to remove a glass that was glued in with Silicone for any reason!!☺

Thanks for the update video, RoadKing. When it comes time to apply the sound deadening, I’d suggest also doing the inside of the doors, on the outer skin. I did this to my 77 chevy truck and it helped a lot with road noise.

Hey Roadking! I just did all those seals on my '63 GMC. They have the glass channel felt for my truck that you glue in with weatherstrip adhesive. The Velcro idea isn't bad, I bought a complete cab set of glass seals for my truck, I will agree those divider bar rivets are a pain, I made a tool for doing mine.
@805ROADKING

@@805ROADKING I know I paid more for the cab kit than my brother paid for 66 C20 back in the 80s. I only paid $500 for my 63 in 2017 but my truck was really rough.. I still want to get the windshield replaced in the spring before I say "enough of this"

You have it coming along nicely! In the floor of our 77 f100 I used ice and water shield barrier they make for home building..lol.. its was pretty thick and workable and for the budget at the time.. anyhoot its held up good so far, surprisingly... I didnt in enjoy changing the gaskets in the vent windows.... you make everything look easy.. enjoying this build.. keep up the great job..its going be a sweet truck!

Thanks alot Vic!! I went to Lowes first to get the roofing barrier!! It actually would have cost me more to do it that way!! There are so many different companies making the real stuff now that the price has dropped drastically!! It cost me about half of what it did when I did the Coupe and that floor is smaller than the Truck!!☺

@@805ROADKING the price being higher now is not surprising, heck a 2x4 - a man has take out a loan to purchase..lol.. homebuilding material is nutz! I dont recall the price difference when we did ours but that was almost 7 years ago now.. it had to be cheaper cause I'm a cheap'O.. 🤠👍

17:23 that's why i paint new rubber with black UV resistant latex paint. Give the poor thing a fighting chance. And the effect of the sun is visible, because after a few years, i have to recoat it, once it starts getting milk-ish.

Wonderful work. I don't know whether to be inspired or discouraged! If you don't mind, what is the width on the Velcro that you used? I'd like to give that a try. I'm ready to build my doors, but the division bars are about $75 each from Dennis Carpenter and worse are not in stock anyhow.
