Is replacing a frame rail on a Jeep Cherokee difficult? No it’s not but it is time consuming that’s for sure. We are on part three of rebuilding the SRT and we have made some very good progress, in todays video we get the frame rail mounted and tacked in ready for finally welding. In this video you will see the time and effort that it takes to do this job and see that it’s not that hard as long as you are willing to learn and to work hard. Everything comes apart in sections and can be assembled again in the same way, all you have to do is line up all the exiting spot welds and paint lines and you are good to go.

So I appreciate you taking on some of these basket cases. The viewer really learns so much more than when it's just slight damage. I know it's a lot of work. So again thank you!

Just a shout out to you and your brothers Yuri, an older gentleman decided to turn right into the front wheel of my 20' f350 super duty and did $20,000.00 + of damage to it. Due to your detailed videos I was able to effectively talk with the bump shop owner and let him know what I wanted and more importantly didn't want done to my truck. It's an alumiduty and he wanted to body fill and goof around with the bed side that was crunched up. It's an 8' bed, so I located a complete white bed that was a takeoff for only a $1000.00 , no filler for me thank you very much. So, I appreciate you man for real.

Same happened were a lady exiting the highway shot across lanes without checking her clearance between me and her and she rear side swiped my left rear bed. Broke the bumper which I've never seen before. I've been watching 23rd Garage for years, and remember everything Yuri pointed out to watch for in repairs. Thank you Yuri and family

@pmiller7886

@philtucker1224 a replacement bed in perfect shape I found was $1000. Same color, stickers on, etc. It was a take off when they converted trucks like mine to service bodies. The shop didn't want to give me a new bed, they wanted to fix mine and make maximum profit. I said no chance pal. The bedside damage was only part of the overall damage.

Yuri, there's no doubt that you're one of the hardest working body guys with humour to top it off. You make it look easy while it's hard work. Drilling that many holes and in high streangth steel and the vibration from cutting is hard on the body. You don't get enough prise. Respect👍👍👏👏

Yuri a little tip from one panel beater to another when welding inside the car do your usual safety process but get a plastic takeout container drill a hole in it big enough to fit your mig torch in it then hold the container over where you are going to weld put the mig torch in the hole and then you can plug weld the container will capture all the sparks and splatter and less chance of burning interior and splatter on the glass then repeat for all the plug welds cheers from down under

Lots of hard tedious and detailed work. That's why cars get totaled. The time costs more when the insured is using a rental car waiting for their car to get completed. You are doing an excellent job putting this car back on the road. It involves lots of work but you have proven that you are a hard worker. Both Cat and Paul have been stopping by doing inspections but it looks like you've got this one yourself. It is fun to see your progress on this one. Thanks for the great videos.

Yuri Bangitoff is your new name, if your video was to show just how much work goes into replacing used parts on a crash, damage car than you succeeded, you can see why the price would be so hard to replace all new OEM versus reclaimed parts, but the work that’s involved, there’s not any less using reclaim parts versus OEM

just for thought , when working on sharp metal oject, were long sleeve t-shirts. you will still get cut but maybe not as bad. and make sure your first aide box is not five years old . i hate it when something happens and the band aids do not stick. and make sure you have butterfly band aids . they are great for line cuts . To me I can move around more with a t-shirt then a work shirt. sleevless jackets with a long sleeve t shirt on a cold day.

So I am curious. Is this a customer's car or is this one that you bought that was totaled out by insurance and you are fixing it to flip? With the amount of labor you put in on this, I can't imagine it would be worth it to pay you guys to do all the work vs replacing the vehicle. So are the majority of these vids for customers cars or cars ya'll are rebuilding to sell? Thanks

can someone explain if i got this straight. when drilling through, you are not gonna use the panel/piece underneath? when just drilling out the weld/rivets you are gonna use the part thats underneath?
@23RD
@23RD 4 ай бұрын
Yes that is correct but it’s not always possible, sometimes even if you are using the panel you have to go all the way through to make the disassembly easier. Drilling all the way through is harder to weld back up but it provides a stronger weld because you are penetrating all the way through to the other side. If you have areas that could catch on fire behind, I recommend using a belt sander to remove damaged sections. This will keep your slag from blowing through.
