That's not an air filter. Its a flame arrestor. Helps keeps backfires from causing your ski to explode if thee are stray gas fumes in your hull.

You ever make the video of the 440 fuel lines?

Hello, very interesting video. I have 2 Mikuni 38 carbs on my Kawa jet ski. I changed nozzles and gaskets, cleaned everything.... I put transparent hoses to see the fuel. Problem after filling the hoses with a syringe, the engine runs but the gasoline does not arrive (see the little that remains tends to go back to the tank (no suction to the carbs)? I connected the fuel correctly carburetor according to the plan (intake, return, low engine pump)? I tested the pressure for opening nozzle 19 psi THANKS A LOT

That needle is suppose to be that way it is, doesn't need to be connected to the needle arm.

@@BASgarage thanks, I purchased a 1980 js440 and it is running like crap and it's pretty much stock except for the pipe, and the previous owner installed a 44mm carb, and its loading up on fuel, I'm gonna try a 38mm carb..

I have heard 3 bolts to hold flame arrestor on is a 38. 4 bolts is a 44.
