correct, I added the pre load to the carrier bearings as well. this is why I thought I was too tight but I guess it is natural to be so hot. our weather crapped out so have not been driving it since the video release. But the good news I do not hear any whining from the differential either accelerating or decelerating. But is that due to heavy soundproofing under carpet I not I do not know. Now the ratio...hmmm that is a tough one as 3:50.1 does have a better hole shot the challenge is cruising speed of 55 mph (90kph) it is too high for 4th but too low for 5th. my PERSONAL opinion is that if you are not building a 1/4 mile car I might have gone with 3:25.1. that would allow me to run in 4th on backroads and lower rpm for highway. Of course I am happy with 3:50.1 but knowing what I know I would have gone with 3:25.1
