It has stainless vent attachments for rain and wind. Optional but worth it.

Because these grills are not meant to be operated in the rain. I will try to work in a sear video some time over the summer.

Hi Greg. A neighbor just stopped by this weekend to ask me the exact same question and to look at my Stampede. What I tell everyone is that if you're primarily going to be cooking for a family of say 5 or less and don't intend on cooking for a crowd on a somewhat regular basis...then the Trailblazer is an amazing little grill and can still cooking 2-3 racks of ribs, or a couple butts, or a decent size brisket, etc... but....if you don't want to have to worry about room and want to be able to cook a lot more for a larger group of people, the Stampede is a better investment. It's my favorite model they've released to date. I love mine :)

1 year out...and I cook on it more than any of my other grills. It's my fav grill ever. It's held up like a beast since it's mostly stainless now. I typically recommend this one now to everyone as it's the perfect fit between the Bull and the Trailblazer.

Yes temps are always stable. Obviously not as efficient as the Trailblazer but more than the Bull. It’s my fav model they’ve ever released 💯

@@StokedOnSmoke does the Rec Tec have any hot spots or is it pretty even? I'm torn between the 590 and 700. It seems the 590 is about the same size as our GMG Daniel Boone.

I’ve never really hit the drip pan with an IR gun to check but I’m assuming it may be a little hotter on the middle directly above the fire pot...but prob not much. I’ve never had issues with good consistent temp. You could ask this question on the Facebook users page and see what people say.

I went with the Stampede and mounted the camp chef sidekick to the side.

The Stampede really doesn't take that much longer to heat us as compared to the Bull. I don't really have good info for you yet on my general sense of pellet use since I've only cooked on it 5-6 times so far. I love the Trailblazer...but this is going to be my go-to from this point forward. Perfect size.

Everyone seems to lean towards the rectec. I checked out the 575 at my local ace and it seems super flimsy.

In the Stampede and Bull...definitely...but it would be a very tight fit (if it even fit...) in the Trailblazer.

Get a Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi then. It has all of those features, but it definitely has inferior components and will rust over time.

500, but many report their Rec Tek grills putting out 600+ on max setting.

I've always just kept them in the bags...though recently I started emptying a bag or two into a large rubbermaid.

I guess I don't really have a preference...though...my REC TECs sit right up against the back porch wall under the roof overhang...so they get hit with more smoke than with the RT-680 smoke stack. At some point I'll have to touch those walls up with some fresh paint...lol.

I'm familiar with Grilla Grills though I don't have any and have never cooked on one. They get pretty good reviews depending on which model...where as all of REC TEC's line up is very good in my opinion. You can correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I see in the following article, the Grilla's cook chamber isn't staineless steel like the Stampede and it doesn't have built in WiFi either (if you care about that...). I can speak to Grilla's customer service so you'd have to ask around on the forums and stuff...but I can personally tell you that after years of using REC TECs, I've never come across better customer service in the BBQ industry. @@StokedOnSmoke yes I emailed Grilla and they do not offer Wi-Fi. I tend to over research, I guess you could call it OCD. I'm just going to pull the trigger on the Rec Tec today. Seems like it's a great value and very well. Thank you for the response and recipes

@@StokedOnSmoke are the stainless steel components in the Stampede 304 stainless? I mean the internal components. I've literally received two different answers from Rec Tec. Email support told me that only the fire pot and gratezs were 304 and on KZfaq Rec Tec responded that all the internal components are 304 stainless. Not sure if it really matters but just curious. Thank you so much!

I don't...sorry. But...if you're a pretty serious BBQ/grill guy and like to cook a lot and want to have larger space for bigger cooks...but don't do bigger/huge cooks frequently...then you can't beat the Stampede. It's the best of both worlds IMO and my fav REC they've ever released.
