I have the same grill. It is a nice pellet grill however once you fill the hopper with pellets you can’t change them out until you burn them up. Should be able to empty and change pellets whenever you want.

Awesome review man those ribs look amazing! I am totally sold on the Rec Teq and been researching for about a year for a pellet grill. I started out with an electric Masterbuilt but the wild temperature wings were insanely annoying. From what I can tell Rec Teq is the industry leader in consistent temps throughout cooks. I am saving now for this one and cannot wait to be able to smoke some good ole ribs, pork butts, brisket, and everything else I can get my hands on! Thanks for the video! Love the girls taste test at the end! God bless you my friend!

Ive been thinking a bout a pellet grill for a little while now. After research I found Rec Tec seems to be the best way to go. I really wanted the bigger one with the red lid, but after watching this I pulled the trigger and bought the trailblazer. I didn't think this was big enough but it looks like a good size. pellet grills are the way to go IMO and are more convenient over a drum smoker. if you want more smoke flavor on a pellet grill, then all you have to do is add a smoke tube inside the cook chamber for some extra smoke.

Thinking about buying this for my husband, we normally only cook for our family of 6... would this be sufficient or would you suggest the stampede?
@StokedOnSmoke
@StokedOnSmoke 5 жыл бұрын
So the Stampede is my fav REC TEC model ever. It's prob just a bit big for a typical cook for your family of 6...but...it gives you room if you want to cook for a larger crowd. Say, multiple racks of ribs, or a couple butts, or a very large turkey or brisket, etc... But...you can't go wrong with the Trailblazer. It's such a good little cooker and you'll be able to cook for your whole fam on it for sure! Have fun!

Torn between buying this or a Camp Chef Pursuit.. has anyone cooked on both of these? Can’t decide which one to buy.
@StokedOnSmoke
@StokedOnSmoke 5 жыл бұрын
Drew, I've never cooked on the Pursuit. Camp Chefs are definitely solid pellet grills. The built in WiFi on the Trailblazer is a nice addition that the Pursuit doesn't have and the Trailblazer is a little bit bigger (cooking space). I like the "slide and grill" option on the Pursuit. That's pretty cool. Honestly, you prob can't go wrong with either...but me being a tech guy (and personally knowing how great REC TECs customer service is), I would have to recommend the Trailblazer...

Dennis, it's a sweet grill and built very well. If you don't typically cook for larger crowds, it will be perfect. I prefer the size of their mid-sized grill, The Stampede....but that is b/c I normally am cooking for a house full of people. If it weren't for that, the Trailblazer would be all I need.

@JasonBrozic
@JasonBrozic 5 жыл бұрын
b.read Hiya Bud..!! I’d say for a party it’s a little small. You could make this work if you have a separate grill or a flat top to supplement its size - but for a party you’d want real estate - the 590 Stampede is the step up and it would better suit a larger crowd of people along with giving you the space for all different kinds of meat at once.....

Q#2.. are u able to throw a couple of burgers on the grill and cook them as quick as my Natural has Weber grill? If I light my Weber and wait 15 minutes the grill temp will be close to 450-475 deg. Then I throw burgers on for about 5 minutes a side.
