Filed my complaint with NHTSA and took my Ryker back in on the 15th. With me I took photos of the parts # and Inspection Procedure provided in Steve's video. My service manager had taken the time to watch the link of Steve's video I had sent them. Got a call from the dealership today saying Can-Am was impressed with my research and will do the full steering rebuild under warranty. Thanks Can-AM! It's guys like Steve that take the time to do informative video's that save guy's like me's Ass. Thanks again, Steve.

Yes, I just experienced this issue yesterday. Traveling approximately 45 mph, went into a wide left turn, front wheel locked up and nearly lost control of my ryker. Very scary...

Ok senior advisor called no answers on a permanent fix. I told her I was done riding this unsafe Ryker and they have a real problem within the Ryker community. I then asked if they would be willing to work with me on the purchase of a Spyder F-3 the answer was yes and I get to ride my soon to be repaired Ryker until F-3 is available. I loved my Ryker but have to have a dependable, safe ride. I will post the most recent repair it may help you all with your problems.Good Luck!

Spoke with Can-Am Opened a case number, I got to vent about safety issues and ask what are they going to do for a permanent fix no more (Band Aids). A senior advisor is supposed to call with some answers. The person from Can-Am was helpful and seemed to care I'll keep you all advised. NHTSA is my next call.

Yes , you should definitely report it to the NHTSA . Even if it only happens once. The ABS/ATC cannot have intermittent issues ever . It should be the most reliable system on the vehicle as it's a safety device . That's why YOU report it. Force them to fix it not patch it till the warrant runs out . Even if your warrant is out , stay on them(BRP) but BE NICE ! If you become a jerk your case is closed , period. Good luck !👍

Wife bought a new 23' last week, had 50 miles on it, she rode 2 miles up the road, VSS C0063 fault, sent the bike back to the dealer, said the handlebars and front end were out of alignment, waiting to get it back, will update sometime next week

Same problem! Took it to the dealer got it back nothing fixed seems they are unaware of the problem. I sent the dealer a link to this video and spoke with Can Am and let them know I was aware of this problem. A little snowy and cold to ride here in Eastern Washington but made a appointment on the 18th don't won't my Ryker to be in the shop all spring long. Josh at All Sports in Spokane has been great. Will see if we can get it worked out. In the mean time I will file a complaint to NHTSA. Thanks Steve good stuff!

Bought a '22 Sport last Saturday and yesterday (exactly 1 week later) I got the VSS Fault/Limp Mode. Pulled over and searched for this issue and discovered this is a common occurrence. I was able to drive the 5 miles home and started digging online for info. I learned about the BUDS software and that Iron Pony has it. Thankfully they are open on Sundays so off I went - about 15 miles of side streets. Their service department knew next to nothing about it and asked if I wanted to make an appointment in 3 weeks to run the diagnostic. Ugh. Set the date and when I fired her back up, the fault was gone. Drove about 5 miles and it came back. I refuse to wait 3 weeks to get a 10 minute test/reset so I ordered the BUDS myself. $15k plus much more for accessories and it fucks up in 7 days? Not happy at the moment.

Thank you for this video! New subscriber. I did have a VSS issue 1x. My arm running led light strip cable came loose. I tried to repair it with electrical tape. Went to start her up went into VSS mode. 2 fuses later and untapping the fix on my led lights, disconnected battery. Restart and it was fine. I found my answer in the Ryker community. This was about 5 months ago all is still good.

I started having the real wheel shudder on left turns when I took the bike to Tennessee to do the Tail and the Parkway. Took it to the dealer in Knoxville and they adjusted steering and reset the YAW rate sensor. It worked for about a day. Issue is still there and I have a local dealer appointment next month, but I'm not hopeful it will get resolved. Very frustrating that Can Am knows about this and isn't recalling the bikes. Can Am only seems to want to sell accessories. I imagine once someone goes off the road and dies from this issue and BRP gets sued, maybe then they will address it. I went ahead and submitted a complaint form to NHTSA.

Wifes came up yesterday after hitting a bump while trying to dodge another. I tried all the quick fixes with no luck so now Im debating either do all the work myself then send it in for calibration or save to buy the BUDS system for myself. Filled out the NHTSA form today

I have a 2019. And my Ryker has been doing this since shortly after i got it. The dealer always re-aligned it. And I think they gave me a new yaw sensor. I would leave and it would start doing it again. I ride motorcycles and just because it's 3 wheels does mean you can't crash because of this. The VSS cutting in and out especially at the wrong time. Is just plain dangerous. I never saw a company just ignore doing a recall.

Hey Steve, I showed this video to the boys at my dealership and they were able to do the full steering kit update, it still didn’t work so they replaced the Yaw sensor, still no joy and same limp home mode happening. They are now replacing the ECM and wiring harness and BRP has extended my factory warranty for another 12 months. I ride a twisty range everyday and it usually only takes 1 trip to and from work and it’s back in Limp Mode. Let’s hope the wiring harness is the fix it needs 🤞

I reported my issue per your suggestion. I am going thru this now, I love my Ryker but not sure if all of the issues are worth keeping it. I see you had this issur occur about a year ago and was wondering if this permanently solved the issue. You input is greatly appreciated and thanks for taking time to post this video. I am also having this same issue, my husband didn't believe me until he rode it himself on a curvy road. The dealership cannot figure out the problem, my bike that I had less than a year needed a new gear box replacement. I'm ready for a refund.

Not sure why CanAm refuses to address this problem. My wife had the 2020 Rally Edition, the dealer had it multiple times, finally got it fixed. It stayed fixed for about 4 month, problem came back. So we traded it for a 2022 Rally, same issue again. Bike only has 1900 miles on it. It's really sad that CanAm will not address the problem. I think they either need to change the mapping in the YAW sensor, or do away with it completely. Because the bike is cutting the power in turns and reapplying it, which is almost like you tapping the brake on and off while in turns.I too am going to file a complaint with NTSHA.

Damn it I just got a Ryker. Saved up since it came out. 475 miles and this happened to me on a 2 lane highway as I'm going 78 passing a slower truck with another truck up my ass. I somehow reverse drove as I slowed down and got off the highway. Come to find out this shit is just going to happen! Why hasn't anyone with the knowledge made a kit to fix this. They'd be making some cash 💸 ( edit to come back and say this happened 15 minutes ago)

Update: The problem is back. Front tire wobble along with back tire locking up. I don't plan on paying for the fix this time. I was told this fix would be temporary and indeed it is. It was good while it lasted. Please report this issue to the NHTSA.

GREAT video, Steve! Kevin was suggesting we do the steering alignment deal with BUDS, but I gotta order one of those bolts first, sounds easy enough to just try since we have access to BUDS right now. ..But yeah, my Ryker has made turns like a 🗑️ since day one.. 😔. I have a lot of fun on my Ryker and plan on riding it until it finally falls apart, but I'm definitely open to people about how it's the worst built motorized rideable I own. It's hard to say otherwise when it can't make left curves at 35mph without forcing me to ride home in limp mode until I can take to a dealership and have reset for $100, 🙃. My 19 has never thrown a VSS code. The pitman arm and steering sensor were changed on mine YAW sensor reset and it only lasted less than 1000 miles for a fix. Now it's starting to fire on both sides and not just on the right.

My 2023 ryker 900 has yaw sensor issue i have 6k on the bike. Cam am said part is on back order till March for warranty

THE BIG LIE !! Can Am ended up doing nothing for me the dealership ended up realigning the front end and said problem solved! (WRONG) Can Am replied you have no problem, no compensation tuff luck buddy! Never would confirm they have a problem. I really had no choice but to trade it in on a F3, wasn't going to keep it was not going to sell the P>O>S> to someone else. If your reading this you share the same problem call NHTSA cause Can AM doesn't give a Shit.

Code C0063 and C006C and the dreaded limp mode during the last 10 miles of a 100 mile round trip on a gradual left turn. It's 50 miles roundtrip to the dealership so I am waiting until the weather turns bad. I also have a starter code P0512 and bypassed the start switch with my own handlebar mounted starter switch. Sad. I always held Can Am in high regard. I'm on the fence now. Too bad because it is a blast to ride solo and for two-up rides in the Texas Hill Country. After some research, looks like I got unlucky with possibly defective yaw and or steering sensor. The back end gets squirrely and bouncy on corners. Hope this helps someone. Cleared VSS limp mode by following C8 Pate instructions. Full throttle for ten minutes in limp mode. I filed a nhtsa report. This is disappointing and unacceptable for any "new" vehicle.

I have a 22 Ryker Rally and the rear wheel wobbles and occasionally locks up on right turns. Already had 3 recalls on other issues. Dealer has not been any help. Hoping BRP will do something

My 2019 900c Can-Am Ryker is at the dealership as I speak. I just dropped it off yesterday, and they said that it was some type of steering column fault. This is rather ridiculous for a bike that I've only had approximately three years. I bought it in January of 2019. It has just over 3000 miles on it. So, Now I'm rather afraid to take it on any type of long distance trip. Unsure of when I'm gonna be thrown into limp mode due to some VSS fault again. At least once every year, after 2019, the bike has thrown a VSS error at me and it throws me into limp mode when I am 30 to 45 minutes away from home. Yesterday it happened on I-95 were speed limit is 70 miles an hour and I was forced to do 50. That's dangerous. My wife was on her Suzuki BURGMAN 400 and threw on her hazards behind me as I got to the nearest exit. And then took the back roads home in limp mode. Before I went home, I stopped at Advanced Auto Parts and had my battery tested because on another video they said that that could be an issue. However, my battery was just fine and now, seeing that this might just be a temporary fix it feels like they're really just throwing guesses in the dark as to all these VSS errors. It really makes me not want to keep the bike Because I can't enjoy it With Peace of Mind. The weather is becoming Nice and I want to ride But I'm very uneasy about it now. * apologies for grammatical errors using speech to text.

Hi, also when I go to the left turn, my Ryker jerks, but only to the left turn and I have a Ryker 2019.

I hope and pray that Can-Am heardquearter hear, and see this video.

Any updates or advancements on this? Any long term solutions discovered? Did the upgraded shocks help at all?

IT'S Back!!! 2,000 miles on the fix, Band-aid and (The death wobble has returned ! ) This is total BS. I'll let you all know how it goes the NHSTA will be getting a second call from me.

Steve Ryker 600 keeps going in to limp mode.

Back riding after a long winter, had parts number 219800513 RYKER STEERING UPDATE KIT installed at 5,600 miles everything is good so far 300 miles. If you have this problem go to your dealer loaded with information and call Can-Am first. Please call NHTSA its a quick process. This problem needs a permanent fix not a band-aid. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
