Thank you for taking this 71 YO crippled "survivalist" along with you on your jaunts. Having lived on a mountatinside in a tipi from '84 to '88 with my brand new bride while building a log cabin from scratch, I can smell every aromatic scent you are creating - campffire, coffee, pine needles, bacon, steak, and, just the fresh air itself. THANK YOU.

I gotta say, Because of this channel,I have a home made shelter in my side yard . I cut out the woods and made a hollow in there so I could practice bushcraft with my kids .if not for this channel,I would not know anything about shelters, knots, bow drills,or water purification. This channel has taught me and my children how to survive in a situation that calls for these things. KZfaq should know this and I'd be glad to tell the personally. Thanks for all you do and for being friendly to us all. Your channel is what motivates me to learn new things in the bush. My boys love every Saturday. Thanks from my family to yours.

As a biologist, I can tell you that plant cells actually can sense which way is up, which is why plants generally grow upwards. Some trees, especially pine trees, tend to be quite straight. People should go out in the woods and have a look for themselves and they will notice that some kinds of trees are more likely to have straight trunks and branches than others. Even on the ones that do bend some, you can also selection portions of them that are straight.

LOL the type of people who make derogatory comments about the Corporal should sign up for a day trip into these woods, theres a reason the lumber industry is cutting all these trees to build your houses for the people who dont know. The Corporal is getting some of the best cuts because hes right there and can test the quality before cutting it down, I'm saying he looks for perfect trees and timber to cut for his projects, he could just use the random warped timber, but this shows how Keen he is to doing the job right. This is exactly what timber looks like all through our Alberta, nice and straight. As Always, full salute to the Corporal.

And the viewers need to remember that the search, selection, collection, construction etc of the "materials"... takes time, and then some, and isn't done in 30 minutes. Would probably take most of us 2-3 times as long to do everything, since we're not doing this every week

@@baronedipiemonte3990 exactly, I'm in the woods daily, I see all the best materials and how and what to use them for, I can easily see the Corporals expertise, I'm glad others viewers are here like your self to help promote his skills to others, so much goes Into making one video.

Never forget your veteran supporters. We want forget you. You guide thoughts . I work with veterans that want to know how to help themselves through the turmoil. I bring you up so they can see determination on a task. They have to direct their confidence on what they can learn to control. If I’ve overstepped a boundary, I apologize

Shawn, your always going to have those people who sit behind their computers criticizing everything you do who for the most part have never set foot into a sporting goods section at either Walmart or Academy sports. Look at your fan base, that speaks for itself. Keep up the good work shipmate. Your doing a great job.

You ARE the knot king. And the campout cook king, at that, as well. Very resourceful every video. The ones that mock at your performance are just jealous of your natural craft and skill, but once a Marine, always a Marine and soldier, in general, and you seem to have been trained quite well in the area of roughing it altogether, no matter what obstacles life may throw at you. Keep up the excellent work, positive attitude and humble character you radiate just the same my brother. Your dedication is much appreciated. Kudos.
