Thank you for the video. This one was special to me. The shovel and the snow brought one of my favorite memories of my dad back to mind. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and he told stories of digging “foxholes” in the snow. I came home one day when I was 12 with a shovel that I bought at a military surplus store and my dad taught me how to use it. He went to the same store and got a poncho for me to use as a cover for my “foxhole.” Thanks again. I needed that memory today!

He often succeeded, but that was partly luck, and partly the fact that the couples were mature. And they did not truly hate each other, but simply could not continue as a couple. Life changes us as we age, and compatibilities can and do erode. Sad. Often, we are more motivated by passion, than we should be! In such matters, it is important for the couple to now heal, but as individuals. This is hard, and can take several years.

I can testify to how a divorce can turn ugly. I'm being as honest as I can be my ex wife went crazy after I finally took all I could stand and left. I took nothing except my clothes and guns. I gave her the house, the cars and truck, all of my tools, fishing tackle, everything! After I moved out I bought another vehicle. She came in the middle of the night and keyed the entire car. Mind you she left our kids home alone. The oldest was only fourteen at the time. After I met another woman she keyed her car as well. She would keep me from seeing my kids, even after going to court. She told my kids I didn't love them. She told them I left them not her! It was awful. To this day my oldest two daughters don't speak to me. It's been fourteen years now.

I'll pray for you brother hope you have better luck than me. another good thing about the pine needles under the bed is that even though you aren't directly on them, they are still providing insulation. While that won't be a huge help because of the air-gap and the openness of the shelter, it's still going to help some.

That was a lot of work and effort but worth it when the result looks incredible. There's a debris shelter and there's a Shawn Kelley shelter. Along with the long fire and reflector, a delicious hot meal, man, what else do you need to enjoy the outdoors. You deserve that meal after all the work. BTW we had a snowstorm come through recently and then a freeze. My two framed tarp shelters withstood all of it. My Hobo Camp where I test my gear looks like it did the first day I constructed it. Nice to see somebody else using "mule tape." I worked in the electrical business, and learned of this stuff on the job. I agree it's greatly under-rated! Usually, though, when I bust it out at the campsite, I get a lot of dubious looks. Then the nay-sayers try it, and stop being nay-sayers. Since you seemed unsure when talking about it, I thought I'd offer some of my experience/opinions from five years of using the stuff. The proper name is "polyester pulling tape." It runs (in my experience) everywhere from 1250-6000 pounds work-rating, and the 1800 stuff (most common) is about the same weight as 550 parachute chord. You can get a roll of thousands of feet for a couple hundred bucks, and have chordage for life. Funny enough, the guys in the business prefer a 3/4" bull rope for pulling wire, since it's more resistant to abrasion against the rough edges of EMT conduit - so I consider the purchase to be a "buy it while it's available" scenario. I've never found abrasion to be an issue in bushcraft - but I also rarely even approach that breaking weight, and any rough edges tend to be wood or naturally-edged stone - which the polyester seems better at resisting. Might want to be careful, though, in areas with lots of sharp rock like flint. One potential downside: it doesn't stretch like parachord - which may be a concern for tarps in the wind, climbing, etc. Being broader in width, it also produces more friction. It usually starts with a waxy coating (to aid in pulling it through electrical conduits), but this wears away rather rapidly with use/moisture. The friction can be a pain in some situations - like raising a heavy pack for bear-proofing; but it can be a boon in others - like here, where you're using it for lashings and tie-downs. Those considerations being noted, I still find that it's the #1 option for working weight vs. weight in the pack. Even soaking wet, it's lighter than most comparably-rated rope. Oh, and bonus fact: most pulling tape is marked with sequential footage and/or meters, making it useful if one ever needs to do any measuring. Invaluable for cable-work , but pretty handy in the bush too! Anyway, just thought I'd show some chordage solidarity, haha. I hope someone finds the information helpful.

YOU ARE THE BEST BUSHCRAFT BUILDER ON THE KZfaq SITE. YOU HAVE VERY INNOVATIVE AND UNIQUE BUILDS. THE WAY YOU EXPLAIN WHY YOU ARE USING A TECHNIQUE AND HOW YOU SEE THE BUILD GOING IS JUST AWESOME. I AM GOING TO USE SOME OF YOUR BUILD IDEAS WITH MY YOUNG BOYS THIS YEAR. MAYBE I WILL EVEN SHOOT A VIDEO. THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK AND EFFORT YOU PUT INTO YOUR BUILDS.

My wife told me the same thing to this video! 🤣😂🤣😂 So I told her if the format for the video is outstanding, why bother changing it. 🤘🏼 Rock on corporal you've inspired me to get out in the field more often. Keep up the great content.

Hey corporal, greetings from Costa Rica, I've been following you for quite some time now, big fan of your videos, I'm also an outdoors enthusiast, scout since I was 6, now I'm 35 and every time I have a chance, I pack my equipment, get my bike and hit the road looking for a new place to explore, I sincerely wish you the best of luck with the custody meeting, and can't wait to see what you going to do on your next video

Corp. Kelly, Don't cut yourself short. We all watch you religiously because you keep us wanting to come back for more. You have so many great ideas. I am always amazed how you find so many tree branches the same size and so straight. It's like you have them custom made. Good luck with your meeting. see you next week.
