Thanks for your inspiration, again! This week - tomorrow, I am turning in my letter of resignation to the place I have been working since May of 2020 - After a "bait & switch" job offer, and no way to grow in the position or company, I'm out! I'm going back to 1099 work and self-employment! I already know self-employment challenges, but it's all in my hands now whether I make or break the bank, minus the sacrifice of hours of my life for comfort in a little office all day doing next to nothing.

Haha. I was also thinking about that scripture of dog returning to eat its own vomit. At end of the day Corp sir. God wants to have a relationship with us not a religion. In the sense of being religious. I get that we as people maybe chat and one will ask the other : " hey what religion are you? " . But wise words and interesting things to think of and keep in mind. Yes ohh this work thing haha some days me and my colleagus we can complain. But yes coming back to the down and dirty things of business. Its business some companies dont care about your personal life, they dont want to hear it. You are there to make money and they pay you for your services provided wheter you build stuff for them or paint houses etc. I do see it in this way although i might not be completely right with argument. I see it as even though i am a employee , i provided a service to the company i work for. They pay me for that service so we are in a business . And like any one would do ; if someone doesnt want to do business or doesnt want to pay for services provided, well move on if possible. The reason i use that argument that way of thinking is i know im not just a worker. And if i would start my own business then i would need to have that state of mind even more. Of not just a worker but a service provider. Hope all my yapping makes sense 😅. Great video Corp as always.

I grew up at a USAF base seeing planes every day. As a junior in high school, i got my private pilot license by busing tables & I cooked to pay for my pilot license, pay was $1.60/hr. I ran out of $$ and joined the Army Special Forces for the GI Bill flight training but as I processed out they canceled the GI Bill flight training and wanted me to enlist. I felt cheated = no loyalty to the Army. I was recruited by Law Enforcement and did that 10 years while building my flight time, and loyalty to LEO yep, ..... eventually got hired to the airlines, and in 2018 I retired from American Airlines / USAir after30 years (38 yrs total drawing flights paychecks) ........ very loyal to aviation but I admit the LEO job was because of the Special Forces (Green Beret) position, as was my Airline Job (of course I had all the required flight training but my whole interview was about my SF position). Bottomline is I have fond memories of my Army, LEO, and flying time. I do think that the military instills the confidence to be a leader, like you, and to succeed. Thank you for both of your military tours and your training presentations Shawn. You set an fine example for your son, and others. Thanks.

Hey Corporal, I know you've talked about your ready reserve re-entry back into the USMC after Gulf War II broke out, but maybe you might dedicate an episode to discussing some of your experiences there - e.g., life on the battlefield, particular battles you were engaged in, good days / bad days, etc.. Maybe you don't want to talk about it. Or, maybe it could be cathartic...? Guys like Shawn Ryan have great dudes like you on his podcast to talk about what they've done and what they're doing today. Could be great exposure for you...? Just saying. Thanks for all you do. I've learned a lot from your channel. Keep it coming.

Sometimes it is hard to understand loyalty. A parent's loyalty to their child as the child grows to be independent. Most of the time, blind loyalty is not good. Most of the time it is good to be loyal to what is respectable. When the respectability is gone so is the loyalty.

For months I I've been reading between the lines on what your not saying, so no surprise on your departure. But what speaks volumes is the silence from SRO. Which is sad. I saw so many videos from past students who had nothing but praise for you. But silence from others that were so close is saddening. I wasn't there so I don't know the exact particulars, but either way some sort of appreciation and regret of departure with a fond farewell would have been nice. Just say'n, no bad mouthing. Been there too sucks to feel that. But on to other opportunities, and I wish you the best.

Another Great one here! As always you make it look so simple and when following your instructions, it is. Great tip on the Fatwood Nest! As far as the Final thoughts portion, Loyalty is a dying thing in the workplace and even starting to be amongst people. Corporate is all about what you can do for them so they can make more money! Loyalty in the military is a must and so many people that have never spent time in the military so don't understand that Loyalty. I was in the Army and always give other service members from the other branches a hard time but if someone else does it, I try to be the first to come to the other service members side. Loyalty for me is given and if not returned then it is stopped. Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me!! Keep up the great work and have a Great Week ahead!!

I borrowed some of my mom's pruning shears that made quick work of all the roots where I dug the various things I dug at my fort. I also used them to cut palm fronds when I got stuck in an unexpected downpour because I wanted more space for myself and my gear than my military poncho would allow (someone gave it to me and it must not be one of the bigger ones but I also have a pretty huge backpack). Just one snip of a good pair of pruning shears gets the roots out quickly, easily, and very precisely too, just how I like it.
@whoever6458
@whoever6458 10 ай бұрын
Guess I could also sharpen my folding shovel like my Army buddy suggested, but mine didn't come with a sheath so I wouldn't want to accidentally cut a hole in my backpack. I might make a stealth for it and sharpen it too. Still, there's nothing like a good pair of prune shears and it's not like they add much weight or space to your gear, plus my mom has like 20 of them so there's always a good pair around that she won't need. She also doesn't like to go out and do yard work on the days when I think it's a fantastic day because it's frankly cold out so far as other people are concerned. I am always too warm so I love a good cold day and I don't much care if it also rains.

Nice one. I actually use this one to get down into cool dirt. With the poncho about around 12" high(not expecting bad weather), it makes for a comfortable night's sleep. I do give myself about 18" out the front before I put my pole. It gives a place to hang a lamp and a little more room for my over 50 beat up frame to maneuver through.

I use a TL-122 angle flashlight with my LBE. Perhaps the nostalgia aspect, they do have LED bulbs you can buy to replace the old lamps. I like to use the flashlight for stealth camping because the red and blue filters combined does a pretty good job of purple black out light. The flashlight it self is relatively water proof, very rugged . New soliders in Military around 1990s were to have one, you go to the PX when you first hit basic training and they give you an allowance pay, you had a list of items to buy, thsi flashlight was on this list as well as batteries. Its my camp flashlight. May not be big and bright yet has its place as military gear, like said, using the filters for stealth camping or say some kind of situation for bugging out will be handy for keeping visibility , example in your shelter when you need to find some thing at night. I think would be a good vintage item to list.
