A retailer I spoke to said to me this recall was due to one defective toy being found. I'm surprised that this hasn't been explored more in the TWR fandom. Honestly I would not return the item but carefully keep it as an under the bed investment. Just investigate how much the Lead paint TWR models and how much they are highly sought after.

Couldn't you just dismantle them, tighten the magnets or replace them with tighter ones, and just reassemble them?

If I had to say when these models will back available to buy with safer magnets, I’d say around early next year.(or maybe later this year in time for the holiday season)

At least there’s no lead paint. I probably won’t send mine back through the recall because I’m mature enough not to choke on it, but parents of babies and toddlers should definitely send theirs back. Seems like a recall targeted at the demographic not adult collectors; unlike the lead paint crisis

I'm glad I cut ties with Mattel this year. I'm going to continue doing so until Mattel undoes all the damage they've done to Thomas since late 2017.

It's very strange how this is happening in 2023. I'm glad nobody is injured or seriously harmed. I checked my models, and both of them are in good shape

I checked my Troublesome Trucks with Crates and Paint, and I don't think the parts that have the magnets came loose.

When I first saw this on my TV in the news I was wondering how did These two toy become a choking hazard? They only said these two were a choking hazard on TV and I was like wondering how? I was like very confused why these two were being a choking hazard and when I saw this video I understand now. If you ask me Fisher-Price did not did a good job for keeping the magnet secured. 😑
