Reclaiming your life after SHTF

Something that I've never heard from other preppers: An instruction manual on how to deal with emergencies, SHTF scenarios, or collapse and the tools you'll need to rebuild your life, reclaim your property and hopefully recover when society returns to some normalcy.

This is a very useful document as long as it doesn't fall in "enemy" hands. Knowing exactly where you are, how to get there, and the treasure you've amassed in preparation... that's gold. Your family members need to know how to get home without a GPS. They need to memorize the map/instructions, etc. The rest of the info should be kept at your BOL. NO COPPIES. No treasure maps.

I think this is a great topic. There is going to be a lot of people surprised. Can't everyone feel something big brewing? It's not only that but people need to have a plan. They all think they can just get a radio and use it like a cell phone...

"Daddy Doomsday" Yeah, hopefully they start seeing things going on now and see how your little binder will help in an emergency. This all reminds me that I need to update mine since now I moved to a new job a year ago and some of the plans and information have changed due to my increased knowledge of radio, foraging, etc. At the time I made it, it was made in case something happened and I had to hike the 26 miles home. Since now I only work 4 miles from home, the hike is much easier unless I have to go in another direction, but I already know those routes since I cycled them beforehand.

Fantastic video! I agree that OPSEC could be an issue, but isn't that the case even today with a driver's license, credit cards, or passport? I think you just need to guard this as such. Sure, most things could be staged at primary BOL, but if you can't get there you may need access anyway. I like the idea, I feel we could all massage it to be as OPSEC as we need, and this is definitely a great starter point to get the creative juices flowing. Nice presentation Bob!

Would encasing that thumb drive in two tightly sealed sheets of aluminum or copper foil protect them from an EMP or CME? Just an idea.

You know, you can take all of those personal documents down th the county recorder and have them uploaded to the database, and if your house burns to the ground, or you lose everything, nothing gets lost, unless of course the entire country gets nuked, which by the way Biden is working up to right now ! Just a thought. 😊

What happens when the computer at the recorders office gets wiped out or you return after a prolonged grid down event and there is no county recorder?

@K6UDA you are right, there is no perfect example due to all the possible things that can lead to SHTF that example is for a local disaster such as a wildlife or flood, storm, etc, a national disaster such as Biden getting elected again due to election fraud, I don't know how one can prepare for? If that happens I ll never bother to cast a vote again, and when the nuclear war comes, well I will put my trust in God, honestly I am not sure President Trump can do much because of all the crupt and wicked people in power, I hope you do well.

These are ok just don't go too far off the deep end. I'd say keep it realistic and talk about the most likely scenarios.

@@K6UDA I'd say weather events, regional outages, keeping a few supplies in your house food water etc. discussing general preparedness and how it relates to being able to communicate should regular communications go down. Think of ARES RACES and local emergency management and EOC. The Doomsday stuff doesn't really resonate with most people. I do like the family plan that you put together maybe you have a few more details but keeping your private things out of it. Perhaps a template you can share for each section of your family plan.

There was no template. I just wrote out the things I felt were important to my family. Things like ID, Deeds to the house and stuff like that are a no brainer. I agree that natural disasters are the most common and most likely events that would affect most of us, the doomsday stuff has never happed over here, but I always say, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Printed directions to a bug out are a bad idea... work on memorization. If that sheet falls into other hands...

You have to weigh the options. If the kids aren't on board now, they may need the guidance when SHTF. I agree its a risk, but it not a treasure map either. Just getting them from one city to another isn't giving away state secrets and if I can't give my kids & grandkids a fighting chance whats the point of any of this?
