Recording breaking temperatures across Ireland as the RDS prepares for the Spring Show.
With recording-breaking temperatures recorded around the country, none of the traditional Mediterranean hot spots are warmer than Irish beaches, with Salthill in County Galway resembling a Spanish or Greek holiday resort.
Teachers at their annual conference in Galway City make full use of the sunshine while giving the tourist industry a welcome boost.
In Dublin, 800 people are busy preparing for the Spring Show at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) Showgrounds in Ballsbridge.
The barns and sheds damaged by fire last Thursday are being rebuilt and will be ready for the event.
The event has full programme of events, with over 1600 animals, livestock, and horse classes.
The present hot spell is set to continue for a few more days. It is too soon to predict if it will remain fine for the Spring Show, but weather forecasters remain hopeful.
Those lucky enough to work outside are suitably attired, with gardaí in shirtsleeves and labourers stripped to the waist. When time allows, those with office jobs avail of the benches in Saint Stephen’s Green.
