Recording Acoustic Guitar In Stereo Lesson (All You Need To Know)
Watch and listen as I run through the easy mic position with the Neumann TLM 103 and AKG C480B on my classical guitar the same way I record my steel string acoustic guitar. Learn how to avoid "cloudy" areas that introduce mud, create a lead vocal "pocket" using panning, and how to effectively "EQ" with mic placement in order to avoid later EQing.
Because if you over EQ you will introduce your own phasing issues, so it is best to experiment with your Mic placement while recording your guitar parts in the song.
IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!!!
I am teaching you everything I have learned, and it works well for me, it gets the job done as you will hear, dont be afraid to experiment, its your song.
And pretty soon you will be teaching me another step that you now use.

So many people get lost in a textbook method and don’t even listen, or worse - just throw a mic up without knowledge or listening - and make a mess. I love that you demonstrate proper technique and teach the variability of a real scenario, all with great personality and passion 👍👍

@@CirclesandSounds It is a battle because so many Artists get caught up on specs, and also believe that they cant do anything for themselves. In my case I dont have the money to hire anyone to do anything for me, and live in a country where they only produce Dance Music, so no one gives a monkeys ass about setting up a microphone. lol So I had to learn from people like you on KZfaq who care about the way things sound. Yes I checked out your page...you got some good stuff, I will visit again later when I have some time to show you some love back!

@@TieDyeKitty Yeah specs... oh man. I get so sick and tired of people doing “reviews” of gear that they have NEVER HEARD, let alone used! Ridiculous nonsense that! I feel where you’re coming from there. I grew up recording and making money with crap gear until I could eventually work at a commercial facility, then develop a way of working from my own, so I learned early on to experiment and make the most of what I have haha. Thanks for looking around, although this channel was my goofing around non pro content - I tried doing some stuff to start a KZfaq channel years ago and got busy with other aspects of my work and passion, such as acoustic sciences and gear design, voice acting and music composition for films and games... my channel is kinda just sitting here haha. My latest stuff is on my website and its albums page. I don’t know if I’ll put anything new on this channel or not, but you should definitely keep your KZfaq channel going! You have a purpose here, good content, and good presentation. :)

I know this has nothing to do with your video, but I've got a question. Another producer I've met uses DistroKid because of splitting of royalties is automated. I plan to use it, to try it out. For my PRO (performances collections) I use TuneCore publishing. He wants 50% of the performances. Can he collect his 50% using a different publishing collection agency than TuneCore Publishing? TuneCore Publishing will let me set how much percentage I collect. I wonder if that would work or do we both need to collect from the same publishing agency for performances?

The question is not a problem at all, first thing first, this is before I even read and process the rest of your question. If you use any feature like royalty splits from a distributor it is a hidden cost, you will need to open a Distrokid account and pay the $20usd in order to collect your royalties from them. So in the case of let’s say a 5 member band, each band member will have to pay $20usd that makes $100usd in total per year.

@@GTSongwriter hey did you sign up to The Creative Passport like I keep suggesting in my videos? because a company that just integrated with them does royalty splits. I have not really had the time to check them out, but this may be a great step in the right direction.

Your question has many questions. lol 1) Music distributors (Distrokid, Tunecore) collect Mechanical Royalties from stores like Spotify , Apple Music and more but this is only 50% The other 50% that they cannot collect is paid to the Music Publishing side ( most artist don't ever collect this) 2) Music distributors don't really do "Publishing" they do PUBLISHING ADMIN, this means they just Charge you to register your music with companies like Harry Fox, MLC and Sound Exchange (you can do this for yourself for free like I do) Additionally, besides charging you to register your music, they also take a % of the royalties that come in. So if you guys set up accounts with these companies yourself, and register your songs with your splits, you both will get paid directly.

Do you copyright.gov your songs or do you just upload them to a distro?

copyright.gov, that gives you "The Right" to protect your works/songs. If you just upload to a music distributor your music is protected under copyright law, but you wont really be able to make a claim against someone for copyright infringement effectively.
