The song exists, the concept and early animation does too... I'm not asking for the whole KINGDOM OF THE SUN, just this one song! Disney, your fans demand it!

I can actually see a bit of Eartha in Yzma, they have taken not only her manersms but a little of her facial characteristics etc as well which is nice to see, she will forever be remembered by her earlier work but for generations to come (at least for the kids) this will be how she will be remembered. And this would of been technically the first ]'voodoo' sort of song before Friends On The Other Side had they kept it in the finished product.

What we're looking at here is a tiny portion of the documentary "The Sweatbox", and it's probably all any of us will ever see of it. "Sweatbox" tells the story of the making of "Kingdom of the Sun". There is a reason why you've never head of "KOTS"; it's one of the few Disney films they ever gave up on. But since the studio had spent too much money on KOTS, so they told the animators to bang together whatever they had into a feature. "Emperor's New Groove" was the result.

@Bierhoff2220 Supposedly she was supposed to have been gorgeous, but the sun robbed her of her looks. That's why she's singing about killing the sun by summoning a demon, so that in darkness she can recover her looks. Pretty epic stuff there

If I could jump to parallel universes, I'd stop at the one where this version was made.

You know, I love The Emperor's New Groove as is, and KOTS was apparently having legitimate story problems, but it's a shame this never got fully animated. Still, at least we have the song itself.

Eartha sure was an amazing talent here. I still wonder how the movie would have went if they kept the original plot and song.

This is the real story behind it all! The man who directed The Lion King; ROGER ALLERS, pitched the original story of "KINGDOM OF THE SUN" to Disney as the next epic movie!

Wow. Thank you so, so much for posting this! I haven't even finished watching the video, and already, I love it. Eartha will always be a role model for me--she was what inspired me to start acting and becoming involved in theater. I actually wrote a sequel to "The Emperor's New Groove" that focused mostly on Yzma's fate and sent it to her and she was kind enough to send me a hand-written letter back thanking me for my story. She truly was a legend and a wonderfully kind woman. RIP, Eartha.

Story Part 5 FINALE; The Peasant reveals his love to the intended Princess and soon the are married and take over the llama farm. The film ends with both couples at the farm watching the sunset! The Peasant calls for Yzma former sidekick to take in the last llama from the field; and says he will right after he finishing brushing the cat! Yzma then respones that if he does a poor job brushing her tail again she will make him her new scratching post!

If it's possible, someone seriously needs to make screen-caps of this, especially the animated parts. Just in case this gets deleted. It's too awesome to loose.

This version is like.. a female Facilier?

Story Part 1; A Prince bored of palace life and a Peasant who dreams of the palace life meet and to their amazement they look-a-like. Only difference the Prince has a birth mark of the sun in the palm of his hand. They trade places to live life on the other side! Unknown to them; Yzma the emperor's advisor has poisoned the Prince's drink to turn him into a llama! The next morning Yzma's little side-kick reports the Prince is fine. Yzma sees this for herself and notices NO BIRTHMARK!

Story Part 2; Meanwhile the Prince awakes to being a llama on the Peasant's family farm, of guess what LLAMAS! Only Yzma's potion didn't fully work and is still able to talk. The Peasant's sister discover this and he tells her the story and keeps the secret as they start on their new friendship. Back at the palace, Yzma has revealed that she knows the truth about the Prince and threatens him to do what she says or DIE! the Peasant also meets the Prince's bride to be and falls in love.

@daviddarkmaster Wow, that movie actually sounds pretty awesome! Maybe if Disney just changed the characters and a few other things, they could make Kingdom of the Sun too! (Although I feel like Tangled WAS kinda made out of its leftovers, what with all the sun motifs and the villainess being obsessed with keeping her youth. :D)

Disney really messed this film up! But most don't know; Kingdom Of The Sun, production was delayed so much; apparently 7 months behind. Disney was really pushing Roger to hurry up with deals and deadlines to make; like Mcdonalds! One Executive when up to Rogers and said to him YOU ARE THIS CLOSE TO HAVING YOUR MOVIE CANCELLED! Disney hired MARK DINALL to help, but it only made things worst! "ROGER ALLERS QUIT!" Production shut down so Mark could do a re-write; Emperor's New Groove! DONE!

Story Part 3; At the farm Prince tells the sister all about Palace life and his bride to be; to whom he can not stand. Suddenly news of a new Emperor's law has been declared! In which it has become forbidden to look upon sunlight and the kingdom will become KINGDOM OF DARKNESS! The Prince llama and Peasant's sister head for the Palace; the Prince fearing Yzma is behind all of this. Back at the palace the Peasant Prince is signing all of the laws Yzma puts in front of him.

Story Part 4; Yzma puts the last document in front of him; this one will declare Yzma as Empress of the new Kingdom Of Darkness! The real Prince and Sister brag in and proclaim the truth. Yzma and her side-kick flee and the chase is on! The final battle takes place in Yzma's lair where the Prince is restored and Yzma is now a cat! The Prince and Peasant's sister marry and rule the Kingdom Of The Sun.

@wolphintv (I hate character limits.) Now, as all this was going on, Sting was writing songs like this for KOTS, which was envisioned as an Oscar-bait style epic a la Pocohontas. All but two songs were trashed in the retool. Since Sweatbox is told mostly from Sting's POV, you can imagine how Disney comes across. The doc has screened maybe twice and today it's easier to find Song of the South than it is to find Sweatbox! (I hate to be That Guy, but Like this so folks know what this is. Thnx)
