That looks like a great little piece of kit. Also I do not think there was "no central idea" to how your studio grew. It grew around your love for what you do and that you made decisions based on your knowledge and resources at the time to best enable you to do that. Curiously my wife has also been having a studio clear-out this week. However, a very different setup (production of ambient, lo-fi and electronic).

Well, I appreciate the comment. It's true that all of this has stemmed from my obsession with creating stuff, but the point is that I didn't have a methodical approach to implementing it, I got each bit of kit without really considering how it would fit in with an overarching logic. Now the rules are, 1. do I actually need it or do I just want it, and 2. how will it integrate with what I've already got. Link me up to your wife's stuff, I'm curious!

Hey Max, I’ve been considering doing exactly the same for a while and getting the 476. Currently using a gap pre73 into a kt-2a, along with a kt-76 and a rnc compressor … that’s 3 hardware comps that for the most part sit there doing nothing whilst I plug into an 8pre focusrite 56 🙄. Total overkill (as well as being in a under desk 8u rack box taking up loads of space) You’ve just convinced me to sell up and streamline down to a single unit.. and will probably make a little bit back to get some Adam’s or similar. Nice vid.🤘

Nice! Yeah, I'm finding that less is definitely more in terms of recording kit, helps with focus, clarity, troubleshooting, audio quality... As well as being quite a bit cheaper! If it helps you swing a monitor upgrade, it's a win-win. Let me know if you see any kit you want from Andertons and I'll fire over some affiliate links if that's okay.

Very good video! Currently I have an Allen & Heath Zed 428 mixer and a Motu 828mk3 audio interface and the truth is that I use at most 3 channels simultaneously and it really takes up a lot of space. I'm thinking of changing all my equipment for the volt 476 or the Audient id24... my only doubt is if I'm going to get audio of the same quality. - how good is the sound quality of the volt 476? Thanks for sharing

Hey, thanks for watching and commenting! I find the audio quality of the 476 excellent, and I expect it would be at least equal to the Motu you were using. I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unit now I've been using it for a while.

@@MaxRossellMusic Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me! Motu sounds good, but I think it is a model from more than 10 years ago. and technology has advanced a lot. I like the volt model, I also have the audience id44 in mind! So I'll take a chance on one of these
