When i was a kid, i used to get records from various pharmacies and small mom and pop shops. That was back in the early '70's. They cost about $2.99 each. Good stuff too.

We occasionally go to Aldi - funny, there is one next to my favorite record store, and often my wife goes to Aldi's while I am shopping. I will have to go check out our stores now. I definitely want the Kiss (though I do have the Ritz show on vinyl), as well as the Bon Jovi and Prince.

The version of She Don’t Know Me is pretty bad. Like the falsetto at the end is just like “yeah you didn’t need to do that.” Hahahaha but Runaway is such a good jam!!! I’ll have to have a look out for the full KISS show.

One of the grocery stores my family shopped at growing up had a bin of cut outs for sale. This would have been around 1970 or so. I picked up Captain Beefheart's Strickly Personal and The Litter's Emerge album there. These were some surprise finds.

I agree. The prices for vinyl are so insane these days! We are being taken for a ride and we let it happen. It’s no wonder people give up and just go the way of Spotify.

0:19 Their best album. The only pseudo-serious one. Great production by Butch Walker, I thought it elevated them out of the girl Ramones ghetto they were stuck in. They went right back to it, though, on the following album, sadly.

Gold Medal is a top record but I find all their records were great. I get the feeling the label was pushing for a hit single and it just didn’t happen. I feel the Ramones thing was really only the first album and those 3 singles. After that they kinda added in their hard rock influences. Especially on Spend The Night and Bitchin’. I feel that’s probably how they always wanted to sound considering how much they loved 80s glam rock / metal. Awesome band the whole way through. Love em!

The reason the kiss has some low quality audio is it’s actually live! There is no studio editing or fine tuning the way Alive was done! That ALDI’s release, ( not Audi) is how live records should sound!
@TheLongGoneLoserRockShow
@TheLongGoneLoserRockShow 2 ай бұрын
All 3 of the shows on that record seem like radio broadcasts. Just 2 of the shows are much better in sound quality. Has nothing to do with the playing or post editing of the actual show. Two shows are just better mixed. One of the shows is just really crappy sounding and sounds like it was recorded inside a tin can or something. None of the shows sound as good as Alive for the obvious reasons but two of the shows here still sound pretty decent such as the version of Love Gun I played here.
