Thank you Hayley! I listened to every word of your journey. My story is very similar to yours. The parade of doctors and specialists who don't really know why I have toothaches moving around my mouth is incredibly disheartening. You managed to describe the years of pain and frustration that you experienced which is something I have a hard time doing, most people just cannot relate. (I feel like they are thinking, "if you have a toothache, just go to a dentist!"). Jim, thank you for posting this recovery story! It is so valuable. Much appreciated!👏

Thank you for sharing your story Hayley. Been working with Jim also and I can very much relate to your story. Before I met with Jim, “literally” I would only have stress about the headache but have learned to acknowledge and own my stress when it comes up and link it to the symptoms. Was so not okay about feeling stress, that my brain learned to have it come out as pain. Still on my journey and it has been taking a while but keep on improving overtime just like you.

Appreciate this success story so much. I’m also a Bay Area transplant (originally from Hawaii). I totally resonate with her story.

O my god, this opened my eyes.. I have tinnitus and its going up and down. And I know this is stress, because when I feel good it's almost gone or totally gone. But sometimes it's a 8/10 and I was always looking to deep. What you two explained, that we generate anger when we do someting what we dont want to do.. it makes me realize how much anger I build up during the day. I do so so so many things during the day what I don't want to do.. big things and even small daily things. I can get so angry on these small things like my husband always forgets his laundry on the bathroom floor. This gives me a feeling of that I'm not important, because I told him so many times to take his clothes, or that he sees me as his cleaning lady. This goes so much deeper, because he is the sweetest man, my bestfriend. But this feeling of not being important is what I learned in my childhood. So, so many things during the day are triggering some feelings out of my childhood, but also just makes me angry. I never thought that these small things made the difference.

Thank you for sharing your story, Hayley. Several parts of your TMS/TMJ journey are similar to mine. Several key things jumped out at me and I may need to re-listen but your comment about the cold making your facial pain worse really got my attention. I’ve had a strange blocked tear duct for over 4 yrs now that has responded well to TMS in just the last month (after following Jim and Dan’s YT channels for a few years to get here! Plus now taking Rebecca Tolin’s amazing course) BUT it still flares up big time outside in the cold and wind. I kept thinking this had to be because of something structural. You made the comment about not feeling safe when you are cold and I had a lightbulb moment - Me too! So now I’ll focus on feeling safe in the cold to see if I can shift the last piece of this. 🙏🏼✨

Hello Jennifer. They told me the pain was from TMJD too - well some of them, and then others who had many weird and wonderful alternative ideas as to what this could be :-) . After much research, I am not even sure this is a real medical diagnosis - just a name when they don't really know what is happening. I'd be happy to answer any questions about my journey, if you feel that could be helpful.

Thank you for this video. I can so relate to Hayley that we could be sisters. I’ve been dealing with this pain for 3 months. It was triggered by stress but the symptoms are so intense that it’s hard to believe it’s the brain sending pain signals. I’ve been to doctors, ENT’s, dentists and still need to see a neurologist next week. It’s still possible there’s something wrong but hearing this story makes me feel somewhat better. Did Hayley have headaches as well? Was it all in the jaw or did she have neck pain as well? Glad she’s recovered.

Jim: Thanks for all that you do. A question: What is your opinion about stretching? I know that your suggestion is to try to do normal movements, such as bending. Dr. Sarno didn't encourage physical therapy, I know, although I don't think that he addressed the issue of stretching. What do you think?
@thepainpt
@thepainpt Жыл бұрын
Yes I would do normal stretching and flexibility training just like strength training. But I would not necessarily do it to ‘fix’ something
