"Give me something to break"
When there's a war containing guns, cannons and nuclears(!) only a madman would march into the battlefield bare handed. Brutes are few of those madmen. Why should they actually care about canons when their fists hit just as hard, if not harder?!
Brutes are Yuri's most durable infantry units able to take much damage both from other infantry and vehicles before they get killed. They are available at a price of 500 resources which actually seems to be cheap for a such strong unit.
Their biggest disadvantage is that they are melee fighters and going against enemies that nearly all are ranged give them a hard time. It's hard to take advantage of many melee units since many of them would need extra micro to attack and not standing idle behind the lines. For this reason it's also hard to penetrate enemy bases with them since they can not avoid any defensive structure than going toe to toe against them.
Their elite promotion seems not to be too much of an upgrade since they have the same health as veteran and they same damage. However, their veteran level is much stronger than their basic level. It's exactly what Brutes need, they last more and attack faster taking down enemy units in seconds.
