Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - Testing Robot Tanks

Robot Tanks are vehicles available to all the allied factions only in Yuri's Revenge. They are not very powerful hence their low price but they can come handy in specific situations.
Robot tanks are quite equal with Grizzly Tanks in terms of damage but have weaker armor. They compensate with some extra advantages they have though. They are immune to radiation, immune to mind control and can levitate above air.
Robot Tanks are not seen very often in online play but against the AI you will see them plenty times. What makes Robot Tanks a good force is that they are quite fast, unexpected, they can cross the sea and attack and they are somehow much easier to micro.
They hold one main flaw though which is the power. If your power goes off the Robot Tanks are instantly de-activated. Same will have if the Robot Center will be destroyed. the Robt Tanks are destroyed in this case and once the power of the Robot center are back they are back in action. If they are de-activated above water, they will be destroyed.

Robot Tanks are more practical to use against Yuri since they are a combat unit that's not susceptible to mind control., but did not think they were immune to radiation. 0.0

Even when the Tank Destroyer manages to actually destroy something it's still a disappointment.

I saw tank shells greatly missing them when they were on the move, I wonder how well they fare in a micro vs micro situation against conventional tanks.

They work surprisingly well as a destroyer killer, and is a good way to deal with Yuris mind control bullshit.

So Robo-Tanks are weaker amphibious mindcontrol-immune Grizzly/Lasher variants that rely on numbers, their building and power... Against Yuri and great numbers are their advantages but no one will use them, since Grizzlies don't have the disadvantages they have and their advantages are minor. Cool concept on paper, practically useless on paper.

Great video! Robot tanks are rarely used in the games I played. But they can be a nasty surprise on some maps like tsunami.

One thing I notice about Robot tanks is that long range projectile (like Siege Chopper or Grand Cannon) tend to overshot them when shooting at mid to long range when they're offline. I guess that it's because these projectiles weapons are scripted to aim at Robot Tank in "hover position" and don't have script to adjust their aim when they're offline and on the ground. Even basic tanks will overshot them as well if shooting from max range.

I imagine they'd have a very specific niche in naval warfare, they deal a rather great amount of damage to standard ships like the AA boats, destroyer and bombardment ships and they're several times faster than subs so they could be used to hunt them down then retreat onto land with no fear of being attacked by the conventional ships.
