"A little C4 knocking at your door"
Navy Seals are elite infantry available for all the Allied Factions for the cost of 1000 resources. They are very capable units that can cause massive damage to enemy units and bases. However, just like any infantry unit, they are very fragile and can die quickly or instantly to many stuff thus spending 1000 resources on them may end up a waste.
Navy Seals can basically eliminate an entire army of basic infantry. They can destroy any structure in mere seconds if they can get close enough by planting C4. They can keep planting C4 with no delay so any undefended base can be brought down very quickly. They can also use the C4 to destroy bridges at once.
However, any defended base is basically protected against Seals since even the lightest defensive structure is enough to kill them. In those cases, Seals definitely need any source of distraction to safely plant their C4.
Given all those interesting abilities, it would be interesting to test them against the two commandos, Tanya and Boris. Tanya is superior to Seals to everything and didn't loose a single battle. Her better attack range and health puts her easily above Seals. Promotion status can change everything as shown in Boris's case. Despite winning most battles, Boris struggled a bit against Seals. Interesting thing is that on some battles Boris was overwhelmed by the Seals but on some others he did even better than Tanya.
Seals can also swim which of course will help in covering distances and reaching directions without any extra transportation. Thus, they can also plant C4 on ships bringing down any basic or promoted ship instantly.
Navy Seals in Red Alert 2 were available only in Campaign mostly because they were a "copy" to Tanya. In Yuri's Revenge they are available in Skirmish Games as well since Tanya started to differ in many parts.
Personally, I like the style and outfit of Seals. They are very cool units with interesting quotes that using them is very fun. I also like the fact that WestWood wasn't afraid to give abilities to a single unit like Seal of causing massive damage.
